I've tested all this with XP also, (my BOX is Original Chip, no issue), changing for test PID, but there's a more easy way for solve this, Why you not Put in "Box Driver".rar the .ept file and Mprogram, in this mode all can write Right .ept file and restored BOX whith original Vid&Pid?, this is useless also if for error BOX show "Usb Dual Serial" for repair Eeprom easy.
Anyway i've extract and saved original .ept and with Box wrong Vid&Pid repaired with Mprog. in XP but BOX not work with 2.10/12.00 FTDI Drivers, only with 2.08.14 is working in XP.
Sorry for longue explanaction but i had wanted tested all, also Eeprom, above the result.

P.d. in Win 7 32 Bit i use w/o problem FTDI 2.08.24
