Dear customers,
Please follow these simple instructions to S-OFF your HTC U Ultra or U Play:
1. Please unlock bootloader using "
Bootloader unlock" tab in XTC 2 Tool.
2. Please download TWRP recovery:

and SuperSU:

3. Reboot to download mode and install TWRP recovery using "
Flash recovery" button.
4. Reboot to bootloader, then Reboot to recovery.
5. Upload SuperSu to the phone (using SD card or using direct transfer from PC to phone), and install it using "
Install" button in TWRP.
6. Reboot to Android mode and press "
S-OFF" in "Ultra S-OFF" of XTC 2 Tool.
Wait for the process to finish.
