Well then you heard wrong..

The problem is with Peugeot 307 series, the problem is that the connector for the electric power steering is not good enough, water gets into the plug, corrodes the connecting pieces of metal and this creates a bad connection that can get hot, in fact it gets so hot that the car is sometimes set on fire..

The car with ECU problems is the Citroen C3 & C5 but it was determined that the majority of these fires was because some company's that was hired to make the car ready for sales used some solvents that were not approved, these solvents "ate" the insulation on some wires and then went inside the ECU shorting it out..
