There is a work around if you have the software, I've had this problem with a few NEC phones, if you have the spunlock 1.41, use it to force an unlock on the phone, reset the lang. to English, then use crazzy 5 to repair the IMEI number, it has worked for me on 2 e616, and 1 e228. No guarente but thats what has worked for me
