I have a BCM2045A internal laptop module (common piece available in multiple laptops). This one had very ancient firmware 2.1.16 (With Widcomm 5.1.0.1100 and had problems with detecting HID devices) so I decided to give it a shot and try anycom/IBM procedure. Original VID 0A5C and PID 2045.
When I tried to update with Anycom unmodified firmware, it accepted v0A5C_p2111_BCM2045B1_002.001.128_Anycom_0250.dfu and updated my devbice without asking any questions (I expected it to fail and leave me with firmware-mode device). Device works fine, but Widcomm reported HW adress 00:00:00:00:00:00. Later on I decided to continue with upgrade and modified IBM dfu to match new PID (of "anycom" device) of 2110 and finally I have 2.1.211.299 firmware and everything seems to be fine apart from device adress, that now is shown as FF:FF:FF:FF:FF:FF.
Is possible to revert/correct/repair the hardware address?
