Hello sir, you can add it by operator locked to, and after getting code you can try following steps:
1 Power off device and remove AT&T SIM card.
2 Insert SIM card from another wireless carrier.
3 Power on the device - the display shows "Change SIM" and Left Soft Key is labeled "Unlock".
4 Press Left Soft Key - A "Password" box appears on display.
5 Enter Unlock Code.
6 Press "OK" - Center Soft Key - the device displays "rebooting" and then power cycle.
7 The device is unlocked
OR
To enter the SIM unlock code, do the following:
1. Put AT&T SIM card in C740
2. Turn on
3. Enter *#865625# on idle screen
4. SIM Unlock Process - Click Yes.
5. Enter 8 digits unlock code and click OK (soft key)
6. Re-enter the unlock code.
7. Unlock Process Complete
8. Click OK (soft key).
