This handset is normally used in america and its a dual band or network handset , that is to say its CDMA/GSM. Now most of this phones are already UNLOCKED and what is left is the changes(settings) you need to make for GSM service to be available. This is the steps:
1. Press start
2. Look for SERVICE MODE , if you don't find it at first page then press All Programs as well as More till you locate SERVICE MODE
3. Select SERVICE MODE
4. Change from CDMA to INT'L GSM

very old news after change to gsm u can not use in canada or usa..so this phone is garbage
