This exact problem happened to me too.
Thankfully I work with electronics and all sorts so I managed to fix it.
If you have no experience with electronic devices especially phones i suggest taking it to a mobile shop, it shouldn't take longer than 10 mins, i bet its just the lever that has come off the hook and now your slide lock is stuck or moving up and down doing nothing.
