I tried researchdownload. Set up everything as you suggested. Made sure the channel server found the right driver and com port. Match those settings in researchdownload. Set the baud rate in both to 115200. Disconnected the phone and pressed play in researchdownload. before I could plug the phone in with vol- I got a little box that said "can't find omit". The same result on WinXP and Vista.

You have to make checked 'Repartition' on the Options page to avoid that error message.
