cant unlock BF3 [Archive]

Why cant i unlock these phones ive tried 3 diff cables on several diff BF3 phones with all of the current s/w wray 5.5 was the last one i tried, but all same result, i press connect, bar goes up to 14% then measage comunication error or somthing my cable is NOT a powered one should it be?

i will find out later they are at shop i am at home now but it does not seem to matter as they all seem to do the same,my gut feeling is i have wrong cable is there a normal data cable and an unlock cable or are they both the same?
