my mate told me to put my gx10i in the freezer for bout 2 hours, i though well as its blacklisted what have i got to lose. my mate said that when it gets really cold it freezes the reception chip and makes it harder for the phone to register, so u can use it for a day or 2, then it goes back to be being blacklisted,
2hrs later..........
i pulled my phone out the fridge it was very cold but still workes, but it didnt work, my fone is still blacklisted
now im going to freeze it for another 3 hrs to see if that works ill post later

The correct way is overnite in your oven on full heat :D
BTW: I'm joking, just in case...
not funny
old eproms even mcu were unlocked this way,,there was some organic changes occuered while freezing.i do not have exact details ,,now a days they r using more sophistcated meterials which r not affected by low temps.
think of heat sensing devices, these also use silicone and germanium ,perhaps older chips use same type of materials which
was senstive to heat, cold and light
experementing with new chips may shows some results,,,but in fact these chips can stand extreme heat[while applying hot air]and low temps.
may be i m wrong

Humm... This looks weird, but I believe this could work.
Remeber that low temperatures can change chips values, or abilities to write or read. So anything might be possible.
PS: I only donīt like the idea of having the phone in such watered envoirement... ;)
MUHAHAHHAAH, ok that's enough, read the specifications of operating/storage temperatures of the chip manufaturers, and you will find freezing is not a problem. Maybe liquid nitrogen would affect the chips, but i can assure you they would not work afterwards. The IMEI would certainly NOT be changed.
I did have a good laugh, though. But that's offtopic, so enough is enough!
