LIttle hint to get 788Sw into a 768 :)

I think, there are some people, interested to get 788Sw into their (cheaper) 788:

You need Ericsson EMMA flash SW and firmware for 788 (for emma flasher), erserv32 1.8, and the programming cable for 6xx,7xx.

The problem:
If you try to flash 788 sw into a 768, Emma sais "wrong model" - now we have to look, why:
If you look ath the flash-files of 768 and 788, at the header of the file, is the difference:
768: .....#490509#490538#490539#

788: .....#490508#490514#490515#490516#490517#

These numbers are the first bytes of the IMEI (look at the back of your 768!!)

Now you only have to change the IMEI of your phone to a ******* IMEI of 788 - ie:490508-xx-xxxxxx-x
-Use Erserv1.8, or a EEprom-dump of your phone and some older Sw (dont know the name in the moment - anywhere on ma HD)
-(I DONT KNOW ON NEWER PHONE; IF IMEI CHANGE IS POSSIBLE WICHOUT TAMPER THE PHONE; BUT I THINK; THAT IS ONLY FIRMWARE PROBLEM; AND WE WANT TO FLASH WORKING OLDER FIRMWARE IN THE PHONE; SO I THINK; THIS IS NOT A REAL PROBLEM)

Now you can flash with EMMA the 788 firmware.

after this, change back your IMEI to the original state, and:

hi there is another way of doing this and you don't have to flash the phone trough keypad.............takes 3 seconds ok here it is how is done:
1-turn your phone on as usual,and type pin number if you do have one.
2-go to "STORE" and press yes, type any number like 1,2 etc only you need one number
press yes ...yes again until it says "STORED"
3-quickly right after it says "STORED", hold
down the left arrow"<" until you see "EXTEND MENUS"
4-press yes ,,that's it 788...then go to customize menus ,and reset the phone turn it off and back on again ...extend menus press yes and go to customize, edit menus and you can save location for every menu....ok is that clear????hope so.......it works on all the versions even on 628....don't run the risk of getting your phone tampered....ok
