Hi all,

I have an MSI USB dongle and Sony Ericsson T610 phone. When trying to synchronize the Outlook Calendar, the recurring appointments are not transferred from PC (w2k pro) to the phone (one-time appointments sync OK). The dongle came with WIDCOMM 1.3.2.7 software. I did communicate with WIDCOMM support and they mentioned that this is a known bug and that it’s fixed in 1.4.x.x software. I downloaded 1.4.2.10 build from Anycom and applied the hack (published in the other thread). The software/dongle seem to work fine, but the recurring appointments are still ignored.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback / suggestions.

Thanks.

Just a follow-up with the work-around solution.

I believe that WIDCOMM sync software just does not work even though they claim it does. The recurring appointments show only once at the starting date, so if the appointment was started a year ago you've got to go back one year on your calendar to find it. Since it does not show up in the present week, do not expect to get your alarm working.

I was able to find a work-around by using the Sony Ericsson Connectivity Suite and XtndPC software, which comes with the phone.

You’ve got to run the Dial-Up Networking Wizard from Sony Ericsson software after the dongle software is setup and the serial ports are enabled there and the phone and PC are paired.

There still is a minor problem, since the Wizard is unable to find the dongle and comes up with an empty search list screen. At this point I established connection to the phone COM port manually through the dongle Bluetooth controls. Then I pushed the "Settings” button on the Wizard popup, and pressed the COM Ports tab, then enabled COM4 port and made it "Reserved". After doing this, the Wizard was able to find the phone and XtndPC is able to sync the Calendar properly.
