In the next few days I plan to buy a Nokia 6600 or a Sony Ericsson T630, so I have gathered a lot of information on both and I would like someone to tell me if what I have understood is correct and also answer a few question I have at the bottom, so here goes:

A- nokia supports MMC cards up to 512mb, SE doesnt not support MMC at all.
B- screens both look good, but nokia is just ahead due to larger size and better viewing in sunlight
C- better battery life on the SE
D- nokia has some problems with Bluetooth headsets
E- nokia has some (little) problems with Bluetooth in general (like sometimes devices wont pair the first time), the the SE's Bluetooth is near perfect
F- nokia has a better camera (suuports up to 640x480 -- versus 288x352 of SE)
G- nokia supports video recording, SE does not.
H- nokia uses Symbian OS, great for applications
I- SE is much smaller than the nokia, and around ~20grams lighter -- BUT when I held both in my hand the nokia did not feel heavier at all!!
J- SE is *slightly* cheaper (but not that much to make price the deciding factor)
K- important --> nokia only supports MMS through a HTTP gateway

So, is everything correct that I have stated above?

and now for some questions...

1) Can the Nokia 6600 do file transfer with BlueTooth simply and easily, like the SE T610/630?

2) Can you "BlueJack" someone with a Nokia 6600? :D

3) Is it possible to establish a BlueTooth connection with you PC and use the PC's internet connection for browsing on the phone?

4) Can you play N-Gage games on the Nokia 6600?

5) Is the "banding" problem in video recording prodced in ALL N6600's?

6) Is there a particular firmware I should ask for when buying my phone?

Thanks in advance...

Hi there

i hav just joined the forum and this is my 1st post, actually just joined 2 reply 2 your questions :)

I'v got a 6600 and a t630, amongst others so wil try an answer as much as i can.

As far as i can see the statements about both fones are correct.
The 6600 does hav an issue with certain bluetooth h/f's, ones by cellink, containing a phillips (dont quote me on that) chipset pairs with the 6600 but doesnt work, stupid though cos mine works perfectly with 8910i's, 6310i's and my t610 and 30 etc so nokia themselves do have the audio profile but even with a v.3.49 firmware which is latest one on 6600 doesnt work

Anyway i digress, back to the questions:

1) File transfer is fairly straight forward, bluetooth and it goes straight in2 the inbox as a new message, click and install, thats if its an application, if u wana load movies or put some stuff on2 the mem card then just use an mmc reader, or abit more trickier, set up bluetooth as a com connection and install pc suite, then u can use that 2 put files where u like

2) tried bluejakkin but dono how cos u hav2 pair devices and input the same pin in2 both so lemi kno if u figure out a way 2 do it

3) dono about usin net through pc, it'd hav 2 b set up as network device i presume

4) got most ngage games on my 6600, check other threads :)

5) banding problem? dono, not had any probs recording on mine

6) latest one i'v seen is 3.49

You don't need to pair phones if you want to bluejack.
He is what you do:
-Create contact in phonebook (write something)
-click Options, Send via Bluetooth
-switch bluetooh On
-search for the phone you want to bluejack. :)

You can not connect your 6600 to your home internet connection UNLESS you use a BT access point - see this http://www.bluegiga.com/wrapas/
