unlocking basics

hi; I am new to unlocking alcatel (mainly max db) phones so I would like to ask you for some help; first of all whats the problem with the cable cos' its not working (is there something with +5V ???); can the alcatel db connector be added to another cable (eg. to an ericsson cable)? when I have finally a working cable,what soft shall I use for old/new versions of phones? any tips/tricks & warnings ? http://www.thoic.net/gsm/ubb/smile.gif thanx a lot

My cable is 100% working with +5V and is different from Eric.I use soft by Zulea 12.3 for all BE1 versions/with changing language pack/.I have tested it on 163-16C 100%
