SIM cloning: problem with 32KB cards

Hi,
I bought a SIM Master4 Reader/Writer and do not have any problem when reading 16KB SIM cards. But the reader does not recongize SIM cards with capacity 32KB or more (can not even get ATR from the card ! :mad: ). Therefore I can not either read new GSM SIM cards or write to Silvercards. I tried many software (sim-emu 6.01, sim magic pro, sim_scan, etc) but none of them work. Does anyone have any suggestions ? :( :(

Hi,
I try Fichero->Buscar Dispositivo ----> and it detects Phoenix (Encontrado !)
Then I try Fichero->Activar Dispositivo->Phoenix for 16KB card and I can see ATR/PIN/KI tree on the left window (under GSM figure). But with the 32KB card, I do not see anything on the left window (only the GSM figure). I think it does not detect the card either. :confused:

First. Thanks for your trys with the program in spanish. I understand is very complicated to you understand in this situation the program.

Well You can see the problem with the "Monitor de debug" . If you activate this option you can see all APDU command send to the card by XSIM. They can see if they are one problem of comunication. You can set a copy paste of this commands (don´t worry this not a secure problem, becuse this info is inutil without ki).

If possible you need ajust the driver phoenix or the program have a problem with this card...

If there is a problem with the comunication appears a msg in the status line: "Esta tarjeta no es de GSM" -> "This card is not of GSM". This is because the XSim (for some razon) can´t read the standar files of GSM SIM.

Tell me te results of "Monitor de debug".

Selected: Opciones->Modo depuracion APDU
Clicked: Fichero->Activar Dispositivo->Phoenix

Below are things I see in the right window:
Inicializacion de dispositivo.
Terminacion de dispositivo.
Inicializacion de dispositivo.
Reset de la tarjeta
Terminacion de dispositivo.
Inicializacion de dispositivo.
Terminacion de dispositivo.
Inicializacion de dispositivo.
Reset de la tarjeta

The status line says:
No encontrada tarjeta en dispositivo

The status line says:
No encontrada tarjeta en dispositivo (Card is not found in the device).

For some razon the XSim not received any answer of this card. You can try this steps.

-Got to "configuracion" -> Phoenix -> And Push "auto" (The XSim try to search the better configuration of the phoenix).

- If this not work try to add more value in the configuration "retardos", in the configuration of XSim.

The XSim reset the card, but this not response.... ¿?

The problem is to extract the Ki. Don´t read this card because the card don´t response. It´s the original card.

... and We need traslate the XSim to Spanish. Not all understand spanish ;)

With sim-emu configurator:
When I insert a 16KB original card to the reader, the red msg changes to "This is not a sim-emu card" but I can "Read from card" from the Config tab.
When I insert a 32KB original card to the reader, the red msg changes to "No card inserted" and when I click "Read from card" from the Config tab, I continiuosly get "Insert a GSM os SIM-EMU card".
For reference info:
16KB cards are from providers TURKCELL and TELSIM (TURKEY)
32KB cards are from providers ARIA (TR 03) and AYCELL (TR 04) (TURKEY)

Ok, the 16Kb works fine.
For the 32 Kb, try to adjust the timing of PlugIn. If it continues the fail, check the Debug mode with the card inserted. Now close the program and send me to info@simemu.cjb.net the BasicIO.log file located in the PlugIns folder of the Sim-Emu Configurator folder.

Hi,

KerKovic seem that have a no-standard phoenix. Is a special reader with undefine frecuency of the crystal.
The XSim calcule the near frecuency, but I think that the frecuency of this cristal is not "the standard" or "normaly frecuency".

He say that can read 16Kb original SIM without problem with Phoenix PlugIn.
For that reason I think that adjusting the timing could read the 32Kb SIM.

I had the same problem with an original SIM and I resolved with the adjustements.

Thaks for taking the time to read my post.
So my contract is up and i have a motorla v60 black wanna keep the phone and clean the sim card and program it or clone it
I am relly new to all this I have worked with somea loaders before but like mikobu and stuff well I would like to know what is my best bet for softare and hardware, what kind of cables do i need and where to get them, and does it come with instrctions? I've been reading llately but no clear instructions just regular posts.
