Newbie question.

Most (if not all) UK sim cards are uncloneable according to various postings in this forum. Does that mean that people in the UK dont have cloned sim cards? Is there some other process of making a cloned card for use in the UK?

Can you tell wether you have a cloneable sim card in the UK? If so how(without any hardware)?

Hi,

The process are a the same in GSM countrys. The problem is the V2 cards. This, for the moment, arenīt clonable.

Thanks SirGraham, how can I tell if I have a v2 card or a cloneable type?

Can I get hold of non v2 cards easly if so how?

Hi,

For color, weight or "taste" you canīt differenciate If a SIM is COMP128 V1 or V2...

You need to search the Ki and comprobate if this card have collisions. You can make this with any program that extract the Ki: SIMScan, cardinal... or the wonderful and incredible XSim ;).

If the card is older (16K o 8k) normaly are V1. But I have card of 16k with v2.

Ok so to find which v card I have, I need xsim(thanks for the recommedation ;) ) and the relevant hardware for reading the card.

Can you recommend some hardware? I have nothing at the moment so I will have to get everything from scratch.

Hi,

The most cheap is the Phoenix device.... And is more compatible with all software.

You can use this to extract the Ki and IMSI (in case your SIM is v1).
