Hi Guys,
I'm a newbie, I'm not sure how I should use the .app file that came with a file that I got for Photographer v2.04
Do I install it into the phone or do I need some other software to use this file.

If you've installed this program to you MMC card! Then power off your phone, put out the MMC card -> put yr MMC card to the card reader which has been connected to your PC -> using explorer find your removeable disk -> explore your MMC system folder, and you can see the Photographer folder -> drag & drop your .app file on it and click "yes".
Now , you've done! Pull out your MMC card and placed it in your Cellular and power on ~ try to use the program. It's works for me! ;)

Can I use the Nokia PC Suite to do transfer the .app file to my phone instead of using the card reader (I don't have one)?

of course you can! But you need the second software/program to move your new .app file to the selected folder. I haven't try it ~ perhap SeleQ will fit your need. Anyone can help??
