xda2 unlocking problem.

I have got a xda2 on o2 and i still cant unlock it.
What am i doing wrong i type yes and i says it has an error on com port cant find a file.
( Error: OpenComport \\.\ WCEUSBSH001- The system cannot find the specified file).
I am using windows me.

XDA Developers xda2unlock tool

This program will extract the unlock code from your XDA II.
For this to be possible, a few steps are necessary:

1. The XDA II needs to be put in bootloader mode.
NOTE: THIS WILL WIPE ALL YOUR DATA SO FIRST BACK-UP!

You enter the bootloader by holding the Power button and the Action button
while pressing the stylus in the reset hole on the bottom.
In the bootloader mode, the display will be gray and say Serial at the top.

2. Next put the device in the USB cradle. The display will now say USB
and the first time Windows will detect a new device.

3. Disable USB in Active Sync in 'File -> Connection Settings'

Now the device is ready to extract the unlock code.
Type YES when you have completed the above steps and want to continue: YES

Communication port opened.
waiting for radio bootloader
reading first block...
reading second block...


Unlock code: xxxxxxx

When you insert a blocked SIM in your XDA2,
you can enter the above code in the SIMlock box.

Alternatively, you can connect to the wireless modem
and enter the following AT command:
AT%HTCLOCK=0,xxxxxxx,1

Do not forget to enable USB in Active Sync again!I

Get Windows XP.

You need XP to run a dos enviroment properly.

And it will work.

BEst thing IMHO is to upload the brand new version ROM 1.2, you get less crap, more programs ect ect :D

I just did 2 SX56 yesterday !! It's really freaking great ! And as a bonus the XDA gets unlocked on top of that too automatic on first startup !

confuse about 3 botton
need details to put in bootloader mode

to put it bootloader you need to press the below three bottoms at the same time

the on / off botton
the action botton (the big botton which is used to navigate at bottom)
and put ur sylus in the hard reset hole

its bit tricky - best way is to position stylus ready to put using something to steady then have one finger with the hand you holding the xda with on the power botton and the other hands thumb on the action key!!

you are wrong reagrding bootloader mode, only thing you have to do.

1 : Hold down power buttom and at the same time hardreset

This will get you in bootloader mode, and you can do all kind of things from here, i.e change GSM network on certain versions, backup your ROM to SD card. Upgrade to VM2003 via SD card method ect.

For those who have problems unlocking, upgrade to XDA-Developers Specila edition ROM Version 1.2, after that upgrade to VM2003, and you are on the road.

If you want help and some tips, write it here and I'll reply in this thread only. NO SEND ME TOO posts or PM's, this is for all to see and learn from.
