I have a samsung E 700.ehen i want to make a photo I see PREVIW error.What do you think it is software problem and i can flash my phone or is hardware problem.
write full flash.Phone will be ok

First Check your LCD ribbon try to change it
If the prob is same then flash with any New Firmware
hardware problem ...100% error camera...you must check camera again

If all of you think it's a ribbon cable or connector how can you explain the fact that all of those ' preview errors' come when the phone is open and when you try the phone closed preview works and you can even take a picture???
Any other ideas?
- I changed camera with working one no difference
- Reflash the phone - no difference
- Try different board with same lcd and cammera no difference

When you open flip,cable have broken camera lines,when you almost close flip,broken lines are good...very simple!
I replaced flat/flex cable on minimum 20pcs of E700...80% of them had camera problems:
-previev error,
-phone freezing then restarting,
-in camera mode,picture is with some kind of effect (mixed colours)
Any other ideas?
- I changed camera with working one no difference
- Reflash the phone - no difference
- Try different board with same lcd and cammera no difference
With this,you confirmed on more time that is flat cable problem:
-"changed camera"-cable is bad
-"reflash the phone"-cable is still bad
-"try different board with same lcd and camera..."-cable is bad again:D
Am I right,please?
Change flat cable and be happy :)

1) where to find replacement (flat) ribbon cable?
2) How do you change (I mean desolder and resolder new one) this *plasticoid* component?
Honestly until now I think only realistic solution is to get full LCD module(including of course (flat) ribbon cable). But if you help me on 1) or 2) ...

I am having the same Preview Error problem with an E700... i know for sure that the LCD and ribbon are fine... I put the board from the bad phone into a good one and it still would not work... Does anyone know of anything on the board that can cause this error???

Here are all camera and big LCD connections on E700 flex cable...check it again!
I didn't met any E700 with "previev error" without bad camera or flex cable...

You have flashed whit full flash this phone? if yes, do you have reflashed phone whit same version original that have phone first the "Prewiev error"? if yes, have you try to write eeprom and reset phone? If yes, the problem is in the board looks the logic in horizontal and you see if there are folding, if no i think there is interruption on the board under bga. ;)
pink/purple or green tinge and is upside down. I have taken a good LCD and camera from another one and put it into this one, it was the same. Based on this I presumed it was the software. I have just flashed the Bin and Nand using Downloader 3.3 but it is exactly the same! So I have no idea what to do next. Also is there anyone here who knows what the OGM file is? I havent flashed that part of the phone. There was another file CFG with the Bin and Nand but I dont know what that is for either? I also have full flash part 1, part 2 and part3, but am not sure which part is for which flash?(Or whether this is for another flasher?) All I know is that the UST crack wont flash An E700 for sure :confused:

E700 preview error cable 100% ok. Also white screen with 100% working LCD. Problem is in board.
Not worth fixing with thin wires (unless say 3 wires do the work).... better replace the whole thing..... Anyone suggest any good supplier?
this problem is a killer :(

Can somebody tell me how can I repair the LCD wires,whit what tool or something...
:( If you are asking a question like that you have no chance. The best you can do is replace the LCD, have you done that before? But try flashing first or just changing the camera. If it is like mine and burnt cobba's it is a board problem, prob water damage in the track somewhere. :(

Have done this already and still no success... there is something hardware wrong on the board... although i have given up now and returned to the customer... it is a very strange problem...
How can you say it is 100% flex problem when the whole flex and LCD have been changed and also the phone has been flashed? I say it is 100% a board problem, but in some instances yes it is the flex needs changing. Not always 100% though :p

Ribbon with parts cost about 20 eur. But u have to have some experience and skills to change it.

i managed to use the cam yestreday was very happy it worked fine here u try also.
keep the phone closed so u can see its black screen press the camera butten and hold it for a while the picture will come so the cam will be on.then open the phone the sreen will be white but if u look from different angles u will see some world like exit camera they r hard to read but i read them.close the phone half and press camera again from side butten then the pic comes inside screen.note do this process when screen is white i took pics with so its the way i invented to take pic with preview eroor and white screen.

changing ribbon will 100% solve your problems with LCD and camera. i've changed around 30 pieces and 100% working. concerning this situation i never met even one with soft problem.

i forgot to mention one important thing...
always put the original components (resistors, capacitors, etc) from the old ribbon to the new one. it is a hard work but 100% will work fine.

@razvan... i dont think you have been listening at all... IT IS NOT THE RIBBON CABLE THAT IS FAULTY, THERE IS SOMETING ELSE. I put a working LCD from another E700 (a good one) onto this board and it still had the problem... i have flashed it and changed to a brand new LCD too... nothing works.
in this case for me ribbon was always faulty. but for 30 times anly ribbon? it's a little bit strange don't you think so? :)

yeah. i have had many e700 to do this on, all have been the flex cable except this one...
that had been wet, but I agree usually it is the ribbon/LCD, I never have repaired one through flashing either.

I have tried all of this already... it has nothing to do with the flat cable or lines. I have replaced the IC too... the first thing that i tried was flashing and eeprom so its not that either...
I have got this preview error problem too. Thing is the cam was working fine until I did a full factory reset - *2767*3855#. only now does the preview error exist, so maybee software fault? no - this is a co-incidence because when the flip is pulled down - the contrast on the screen increases. this phone was probaly faulty before I got hold of it and i never noticed. !! will replace ribbon cable asap!

have same problem,but this board was covered with watter!
when i put this lcd on other board works fine,
but in this one PREVIW error
searched forum and it looks like no one solved this
or i`m wrong...
Have managed to purchase a replacement ribbon - only £3.99! Will let you know about results!

i have a e700 , in which there are two problems :
1. when we try to take photo it says ( Preview Error)
2. when we open the flap after switching the set ON , the display is WHITE.
please help me ,

Sure HW problem.. flex cable broken.. Very hard to find working flex, original with both lcds too expensive.

its too complicated to solder on a new ribbon cable, and to do properly would take at least a couple of hours. the truth is that these phones are beyond economical repair, it is a waste of time and you are better off not dealing with them and concentrating on making money elsewhere with your time.
you are looking at somewhere in the region of 40 UK pounds!(55 euros) I charge about 85 euros in Spain and most people say YES to the repair which takes me now less than 10 minutes including soldering the speaker and vibrator! If you dont want them send them to me LOL :p
