Hello,

I have had an unlocked Sharp GX20 for about six months and have been using it sucessfully on O2. I have used the WAP with no problems during this time and have been able to check my Yahoo email and Hotmail.

In the last fortnight I've been getting errors on the WAP. I press the button that brings you online and the phone automatically goes to live.vodaphone.com (I don't see the content of he page because I'm an O2 user, but I get the message "live.vodaphone.com" across the screen). I press the internet button again which should take me to the page marked as the home page, which in this case is the O2 home. However, instead of seeing this page, I get "Unsupported content type".

Now, I have some bookmarks stored on my phone so I can get passed this to other pages. I click on 'Options' and then 'View Bookmarks and select 'News' which should take me to the BBC news page as was linked from the O2 homepage. Again, I get "Unsupported content type". I can still get to the BBC homepage but strangely the BBC news pages work fine.

Next problem, Yahoo mail. I can still get to this page, but I have to sign in each time whilst previously it I would be signed in as soon as I opened the page. And the same with Hotmail, but with hotmail after I sign in, I just get asked to sign in again, and again and again and again.....

WAP works fine on my old Samsung N500 (although this is in black and white and doesn't load images), and I can view yahoo and hotmail and O2 home with no problems.

I've emailed O2 and they didn't seem to think there were any problems. Anybody got any ideas? Having similar problems? I'm dying to be told that there is nothing wrong with my phone but I'm getting worried...

Just in case it makes a difference, I'm on O2, pay as you go, using the online tarriff that gives you 300 text messages free when you top up, I still have £10 credit, and I've tried connecting to WAP using both CSD and GRSM. This only started a few weeks ago, and I think O2 where pushing GSRM at the time.

Help please!
Stu.

Thanks,
I'll give that a try when I get to see a friend that'll let me try using his SIM. I know that my SIM was meant to be media messaging enabeld as I phoned O2 a while back and checked, but I'm willing to try anything. Hate living with the knowledge that my GX20 may be imperfect!

Will let you know how it goes!
