Hi,
We have a nec 525 here.....
The phone connects to nec talk no problem!
Using winxp.
But we get PTO always not found!
I have tried entering this command starting at 0...
nectalk -pt comX unlock pte39
Tried up to 101!!!
Still pto incorrect?
Can anybody help in getting this unlocked?

When i try to open the program it stays on for 3-4 seconds then closes. I have tried deleting it and re-installing but will not work. Can anyone out there help me and tell me the exact procedure to install and use the software from this forum (NECTALK.EX). Thanks Mike
ok man is very easy..
1 don't work on Xp ....works on 98
2 first instal driver for usb modem
3 be sure that you instal ok driver ( device manager / PORTS (com & lpt) ) .\. here you must see : nec usb modem bla bla bla com 4. or 5. or 6
4 this soft NOT work with all software version from nec

Ok that explains why it is not working!
The handset we have is E525!!!
We will wait for spear to update software...was looking to purchase his software but we are waiting for update to e313 and e616.
Hopefully soon....also would be good to see update for e525 obviously!

Nectalk works for E525 !
this software Works on winXP as well (or 98 or 2k...).
Proceed as follow:
1) install NEC USB drivers
2) Connect your phone to USB, and make sure it is detected and a com port has been assigned (to verify,with phone connected to usb, go to control pannel, phone/modems, and under the modem tab, make sure you see the phone, it will be listed as "NEC Portable Phone USB Modem" and a com port should be listed.
3) nectalk is a DOS software !!! Open a dos windows (start program command for win9x, or start > run> cmd> enter for XP and 2k).
4)in the dos window type the nectalk command: nectalk -pt unlock

Stalewind has just solved my E525 O2 locked
type "nectalk -pt pte 10079 unlock" in the command line, let me know if it works

all works 100%
just set com port for nec in devcice manager to com 2 and disable the current com 2
restart machine and use this command nectalk -pt pte 10079 unlock

just unlocked my uk e525 horray keep up good work
unlocked e525 uk to all networks apart from 3g asking for a sim code any ideas as my sim does not need a code in my other phone use guys are the best

M8 3 g customer service is **** if you can get a 2 g phone to use that card
on 02 they will cut you off they left me without a phone for 6 weeks
dont use your card in any otherphone other than 3g or they proper **** you
up :D :D
thanks for the advice mate will have second thought about it now trouble is had that many dropped calls and keep having to change it to 2g getting p***ed off with them now
yes but these phones are a quad band phone ?? so they will work on 3 if any1 can work out how to get the code

I keep getting this:

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Maybe 98 is the issue but I am not sure...seems like it does want Win32 mode. Works for me on Win2k....

I know unlock software works on the following OS's:
Win98, Win2k and WinXP
I heard people are having trouble with WinMe, and I dont know about WinNT.
Here is the right procedure:
Get USB Data cable
Get USB phone drivers from NEC Web Site (http://www.nechdm.com/synch.asp)
Get NecTalk software (google it!)
Make a folder on your drive and copy nectalk software to that folder (like c:\nec)
Install USB drivers
Connect USB cable >>> NOT ON A HUB, but directly to PC.
Connect phone to cable (phone is turned on)
Phone will be detected by your PC. Go to Control pannel, and under phone and modem, you should see your phone, make a note of the com port your PC assigned to the phone.
Now go to a dos prompt (Start > run > command for win98 or start>run>cmd for win2k and winXP)
In Dos mode, Navigate to the folder where you copied Nectalk .
Run nectalk with the appropriate flags.
After nectalk has ran (2 to 3 secondes) the phone will be unlocked and the phone will shut down.
that's it !

Make sure the size of your pic's does not exceed the limit.
Audio file can be 32k max

Also im using cable that i use to unlock the NEC 3G phones seems to work ok but can somewbody confirm that is is 100 % compatable ?

No.You must use NEC 525 cable
ok used 525 usb cable still no luck any other idea's as to why it not working ?

Guys I am desperate. I sold my phone because i had faith this would work.
i bought a USB cable from cellphoneshops.net for the NEC 525 and when i plug it in nothing happens. It doesn't reconize the phone. Nothing happens on the screen of the phone either. One time it randomly said it was charging when i had it plugged in. I don't know what to do, and time is ticking. I bet the unlock would work, if i could get the drivers installed but i can't
help please :)
