View Full Version : S500 with "limited service"...

...have full network bars and can not make calls or to be called.
Tried with software solutions,checked PA,ant. switch,ext.ant. connector,ant. connector,etc..."limited service" remains.

Phone have is not watter or phisical damaged, it is used about 4 months.

Somebody have good advice for this ?

Tried already...all the same!

This is HW problem 99%...this morning I tried phone again,call can be made,but after many tries...

it tries to change IC U101..... ;)

correct, to replace Ic U101 is solution. I did over 20 pieces!

U101 by kimichan & Globeroma is not VCO. It's IC controller RF. It's very good solution.

I have many Samsung service manuals,but not for S500...bad...
I meaned that u101 is VCO,like on few other Samsung models...can you tell me which IC is u101 on PCB,what function have it?

U 101 is signal processor, for more details search manual service :) :)

@shiljo - easy way - try to decrease TX power by adding or replacing some passive parts after PA - this is not righ way for repair, but will make your phone useable :)
