Hi,
I have been following the cloning sim cards thread for a while now but from my own research its a bit of a waste of time. Since the newer comp128v2 hash algorithm was introduced it is impossible clone these SIM cards (although an expert told me that it was possible but would cost about €30,000 in equipment!). Very few of the original SIM cards that use comp128v1 are still in use as it is over 2 years since the new hash algorithm was introduced. Therefore cloning your own SIM cards isn't really worth doing right now.
Has anyone else any information on attacking SIM cards other than the cloning technique that was common for the last few years? From researchers papers over the years there have been several attacks and attempts but nothing seems really practical for the ordinary joe soap to be trying out on his own.
Any sort of mad ideas are accepted as I want to try and do something that might retrieve some information regarding the SIM cards or even location of the user or what they are talking about etc. I just think cloning is old news right now and we need to come up with some fresh ideas to attack them!
Hope someone out there thinks they have something to suggest... ;)
