View Full Version : How to Read Internal EEPROM? (Ki etc)
Can anyone explain me the technique of reading internal EEPROM out of Silver Card?
If I got it right a special micro code is required to be loaded into FLASH which will make it possible to retrieve interesting info like Ki's PIN's etc. Is that program very complex? Are some special skills/equipment required to do the thing?
And another connected question: how do I check if a card was recorded with CPD bit on? (I've purchased a pre-programmed Silver Card so I wonder if it is safe to get it lost/stolen :)

Hi,
You can read the eprom with a Phoenix and XSim 0.09.

That's all so great, but how do I derive THE Ki out of the thousands of hex digits read by Phoenix?
To know if the CPD was set, read the flash with ICProg 1.05 and all the configuration bit will be shown.
If the CPD was not set, the internal EEPROM is read and shown in the below area.
To be able to write a special program to read de internal EEPROM, the previous CP (code protection) configuration bit would not be set.
I release the flash with this bit set to avoid this posibility.

Where to download Phoenix ?
Where I can find XSim 0.09
No, with the Phoenix it is not possible to read the internal EEPROM.
To read the flash and internal EEPROM is neccesary a TE-20 and ICProg.
The external EEPROM is read with the Phoenix using the SIM-EMU Configurator 2.1 or XSim or ICprog. I recommend my Configurator because allow you a full configuration of the SIM-EMU.

Hi,
SimEmu is right i think you talk about the "external" Eprom.
However, you can download the XSim 0.09 from EndoraSoft:
