Solution for 3310 reconnect charger or charge by itself :

1 : In the first picture you see the via hole that in most cases cause this kind of fault. It's cut/disconnected and will therefore have a open line and have problems wth either charging or selfcharging.


2 : Mount a thin wire as in picture 2 through the via hole.


3 : Cut the wire on both sides of PCB.


4 : Solder the wire on both sides of the PCB to connecting lines.

Now you should have a working phone that charges correctly, or does not selfcharge.

on the phone PCB there is an interrupted way (somwhere on the right part of PCB - keybord side). It is a very very thin way, and it starts from + connector

the charging process is controlled by MAD. the line you rebuild is actually CCUT line from MAD to CHAPS and it causes many charging problems specially when the phone was dropped in liquids.

Watch the small via when pcb rework done on the keyboard side...(s/c the two vias). It is very small and very sensitive..I would almost completely loose the copper contact, but done some digging to find copper and make the s/c...

I had a same problem i did acording to the mathod mention above it worked for few days after that i did evry thing i could do but atlast i had to replace the Ccont and the problem was solved but this was the 1 fone out of 100 which gave me such a hard time

jamohaki, have you tuned the phone? is it drawing current? check the rssi reading. if it is out by more that 15db then you need to replace the vct. see how you go. by the way what is with that charging solution for 33xx? i assume people are testing and changing the charging fuse? it sounds like people are not doing this. can any body confirm that they are doing this? do people know how to proform energy management calibrations? that usually helps.

But i'd like to add a reminder, that the solution was only for broken lines from R220 to Vbb_main. Co'z i've encountered same problem of self-charging but i came out to a different solution. Coz this time, R220 to Vbb_main line wasn't broken. So i tried to rework CCONT or replace if necessary. And it really does work! So test first for broken lines, and if you won't find any, then try to rework or replace CCONT.

U might end up waisting ur heater's resistence which doesn't come cheap. 3rd, air flow must be just a bit more than the setting 4 heater, not to burn it 2 soon. But it's only an opinion. (Do u sell rework station parts? ;) )

yes i have one scalpel u are referring to...im using that to clear away excess solder paste...

2nd i dont block the heater's outgoing hole...what made u say that? It must have been how the picture was taken so you might have the impression i am blocking the outflow.:confused:

3rd thats the setting Im used to...it really depends on what you are used to, i mean the setting...4th, i dont sell rework sation parts parts....

So far my rework station has been very active since 2002 and i have not replaced a single heater element (as what you are trying to imply):D

3: and a lot of experience with dead motherboards only with free hands.

pcb is simply the main board or the Panel or phone engine,(i think PCB means panel component board ) good luck ok.
pcb simply means printed circuit board. good lock

Solution for 3310 reconnect charger or charge by itself :

1 : In the first picture you see the via hole that in most cases cause this kind of fault. It's cut/disconnected and will therefore have a open line and have problems wth either charging or selfcharging.


2 : Mount a thin wire as in picture 2 through the via hole.


3 : Cut the wire on both sides of PCB.


4 : Solder the wire on both sides of the PCB to connecting lines.

Now you should have a working phone that charges correctly, or does not selfcharge.
