I attach little tool to make RPL file with flash imei backup data from readed dct4 PM file, this can be done by hand but this could make it easy when having multiple files,

Yes just edit you pm,copy from id [208] and paste one new file this format

and save in rpl format ;)

one question if i have a pm file and from that i have a rpl file with same imei number when i update pm and after that update the uem with the rpl what can happend then if my phone is already imei ?????????????? should it auto update the old imei ? becuase i know some one at nokia said a time few days ago that the phones can be writen on the old uem no uem change if you know the right hand shack :) can some one test to spy on twister, griffin or some other box when it is trying to write uem i think i have a ide..

You need to read full pm, no sure about griffin but ufs can do it,

no, offcourse, this rpl backup is based on pm data from phone and therefore can only restore flash imei data, for empty uem programming you need calculation :)

you cannot write the readed RPL to an empty phone (well you can but you wont succeed).

Are you so sure about what you say here?
If the rpl check procedure (for encrypted data) is just skipped, you can put ANY IMEI number, no more care about security encripted data :rolleyes:
Also can be skipped procedure who write rpl encrypted datas to flash and UEM, so easy can use ANY rpl and just edit the IMEI number inside file. And just upload this edited RPL file to any phone, it will not give any error. Easy no? :p

Maybe something new and interesting soon on the market.

This CAN be protected, because patched procedures can be 'linked' on UEM serial number, so for each phone another patch (partial). And all this 'partial flash' (decrypt flash part, apply 'personalized' patch, encrypt back) can be made inside a secure device like a smartcard ;)

a person (maybe Koci himself) wrote a txt about dct4 flashing, which can be doubted anyway but if we suppose not, we have to accept what it says that "firmware is stored in the flash in encrypted form" (can be checked anyway by taking a chip off a phone e.g. 6310 and reading it with a UP-48 or similar)

on one hand, considering firmware cannot fit in RAM thus encrypting/decrytping it every time before/after execution would need to update the flash chip, which would affect flash endurance highly negatively, not mentioning the consequences in case of taken-off battery and performance issues. now either the ASIC does the decryption on-the-fly, or - like a x86 executable protector - decrypts 'blocks' or 'pages' on-the-fly, by some means of an interrupt service routine or similar.

contras of the first method include needing a totally custom CPU design (or an overlay decoder core which handles the full memory area assigned to the firmware code seamlessly); for second method, mainly performance issues.

now considering the second method likelier, a "stub" should be located in the firmware code somewhere which is plain (not encrypted). probability somewhere at the boot vector. don't know almost nothing about this platform though.

anyway, as a decision factor, although nok is unlikely to create a totally custom CPU design in VHDL or the like, griffin team is much unlikelier to depackage this chip and thoroughly analyse its internals.

well if you need to fix this fast of damage uem and damage imei and bla bla it would be nice becuase now days those nokia **** phones not working good at all becuase of stupid people drops them in the floor or they self damage it self, so this would be a good solution to have instead of waiting for 1 dame log to show up and the costumers is not waiting wery long so i would pay a bit for this solution only have it for repair stuff.... not illegal stuff.... so if any one can do it then maby do alittle biz with it first to good people that not droping this solutions away free......

All of us have many phones after water after impact. They require replacement UEM. But if to buy at Grifin RPL that repair it turns out more dearly(expensively) than to buy same phone the worker from hands.
For example. 10$ = Rpl - 10$ = WestUnion 5$ = new UEM 10 - 20 work and that = 50.
Old Nokia 8310 from hands costs(stands) - 40-70. I think it is time to create free calculator RPL for ASIC2 . Grifin it is time in resignation.

It was planned, that strong(er) A5/1 would not be exported to certain e.g. non-democratic countries.

As far as I know currently nobody use A 5/2 because even A 5/1 is not very strong crypto algorithm.

I hope we see you here more often in future. Always nice to read and learn from you.

BTW: Could you give some hints how to flash DCT-2 eg. Nokia 8110 phones. I know that it's possible with FPS-4 but the necessary FLA-3 adapter isn't available anymore. I know pinout from phone connections pads but not how to connect to FPS-4.

I can help you with this solution... ( I spent some time making experiments with this few years ago... )
contact me by ICQ and I will give you instruction how to flash DCT-2 with FPS-4... but remember DCT-2 don't has ASIC Boot and if flash fail can't be resumed, you need to take the flash out and reprogram with image.

First of all sorry for my old post about subject, I did not read all and ask you all times. This tool PM2RPL is working and great. But here is the last question from me about that subkect. How we will restore IMEI for the phones whch has IMEI ???????????????. or we can not do it? For Ex. there is many phones flash demaged and need to new change flash chip. Can we use this tool also for that or not.Otherwise if the phone is working why to backup its flash IMEI?

its not work u created *.rpl

this file is only can write to flash IC IMEI area, if you already change uem ic then this
will not help!!!or you can use Griffin read uem (calculate imei flash area)see the imei is same with that file imei or not.

i read the pm from the 1100 mobile using ufs
&
use the pm2imeibackup tool by invisible to convert imei
but, the converted rpl will contains when open in notepad is given below

IMEI=no imei no.

when i edit this with my original imei using notepad i gives me a error
when i write uem in ufs.
how i solve this problem to replace "no imei no. " with my orginal imei in the rpl file

hi

you have no to edit anything in RPL file,
imei prog data contains flash imei for your phone,
just upload RPL with your box

Anyway this only works before phone get f***,
not after, so don´t loose your time and buy a calculated RPL
from griffin team,

also read the instructions is usefull before start posting
(or reading the thread from beginging)

easy, I guess 1100 have pm slightly diferent,
have to take a look at this,

about change uem, no realy needed if not damaged (if only flash imei damaged)
