Problems with p900 when changing IMEI

Hi people.. I recently flashed my orange p900 with this file using DIV USB 1.9 patched from cellular support:

P900_PhonePart_FullFlash_v1_R3C006_f.sbn.sbn

and then changed my imei to one that has a valid luhn digit using this website:

.. only changing the last 6 digits of my original IMEI.

When I boot up my phone with my orange simcard in it, All seems OK.. when I type in *#06# my new IMEI is there.. But when I try to ring out, I hear 3 beeps and it doesn't ring the number. Am I doing anything wrong? Any help would be great.. Thanks :)

however.. when I changed my imei using DIV 1.9 (Ive tried DIV 4.0 patched too) I used 'Read All Codes' to see what my IMEI was.. and it was still the original one :rolleyes:

firstly, goto www.cellular-support.com and download the latest DIV.

Secondly, the reason you get three beeps is probably because the imei you have changed it to is barred or not valid. What you need to do is find an old phone you own with a working imei (not barred), and read the imei from the label under the battery cover. Change the imei of your phone to the one from the old phone and your p900 will work fine. DO NOT use the old phone now, throw it away or dismantle for spares as if both phones connect to the orange network at the same time the imei will be barred.
