Hi guys,

Yesterday I bought this OT 511 Cable (BF4 as you already know)

http://utenti.lycos.it/thebelv/temp/cablesmall.jpg

I tried it with so many programs (like bfx tool and others) but always it doesn't connect.

Bfx tool gives this message

"Send boot ...
ERROR - Phone don't answer B1"

Which is the same message it would return if you tried to connect without a cable in com port..

I decided to change the cable thinking it was broken and now I own a new one, but telephone still doesn't want to connect. I have 3 alcatel OT 511 and noone is going to connect, always same error. Any suggestions?

OS: Windows XP (but I tried with Win 98 too)

I tried every configuration of COM port 1, different bit rates etc..

What's wrong? :(

just before clic on connect try to push the conector for the cable whith your hand, in different position and conect , you can see the good position .

try to put out the battery and cable for 5sec and put it back before any attempt of conection.is your phones functional? or you are trying to connect to a death phone... :D .did you try with lurker 3 or wray?
P.S. before do anything (unlock, flash etc), BACKUP teh zones!!!

Yes I would like to backup teh zones but it stil doesn't connect..

Phones are functional, even if they have some bugs. One of them does not charge battery and another one sometimes resets himself. As I said in previous post I tried 2 cables but both give the same error. I tried to push cable onto the phone to be sure it was connected, but nothing to do, even with Wray 5.5 or Lurker ..

I really don't know what to do now..

1.did you probe your cable on a good unit?
2.did you try to supply the phone with his (full charged) battery, not from cable?
3.cut down the connector.probe your interface&cable with hiperterminal (tx rx loop).solder the wires carefully directly on phone.check again.try to connect
4.if still doesn`t connect  , throw the cable and build an interface like in attachment.or buy a proffesional one... :D
5.good luck! :)

1.did you probe your cable on a good unit?

I have not a good unit. I own 3 Alcatel 511 and noone is going to work..

2.did you try to supply the phone with his (full charged) battery, not from cable?

Yes, sure.

3.cut down the connector.probe your interface&cable with hiperterminal (tx rx loop).solder the wires carefully directly on phone.check again.try to connect

How can I test with Hyperterminal? I open Hyperterminal and create a new COM1 connection, but nothing happens.

..throw the cable and build an interface like in attachment

Yes I did it, I build and tested that interface and obviously still not working. I thought it was a com port problem but my Samsung T100 works well with it. Do I need some particular com port settings? (bitrate, error control etc etc..)

I don't know what to do. A professional cable costs too much for this phone.. :(

3.make a new connection with hiperterminal, com1,9600-8-none-1-none(but it should work with any other bitrate), put Rx & Tx from MAX,in that interface:9&10 (or Tx & Rx from data cable) together and type something on keyboard.if your interface is working, you should see what you type on monitor (this is Tx Rx loop back ;) ).this kind of interface worked for me only powered from 9V battery(prefferable a new one), not from com port or another power source(like phone chargers).solder the 4 wires on the 5 pads of phone, check for o\c, s\c, power on the interface, put off phone`s battery, press power on phone for 2sec, put on the battery back, try to connect.......goooood luck :)

LOL things are getting so crazy :)

The cable works (full tested with Hyperterminal) only if I power with an external source. That's not a problem, so the cable is functional. But the phone is still refusing to connect!! I tried to switch RX/TX (I know there were a lot of schematic with errors in TX/RX) but still no response from the phone..

I think there's nothing to do. Today I will buy a new 9V battery and try another time. I hope my electric outlet is a little bit noisy and this could be the problem.... I hope!

Edit --> P.S.: I don't know if it's important but when I connect the cable and press any key onto the phone the phone lights up (display lights for 2 seconds more or less), but it doesn't turn on, only display lights turn on and only if I press a key.

If phone lights up, for sure you can NOT connect!Phone must be OFF!Like I said before, remove battery before trying to connect to be sure that phone is off.Try to put 3v3 zenner diodes on tx rx lines to limit voltage.Compare the resistances of pads to ground on the two phones you have.In my opinion, this is a hardware failure, not software (60% power IC).
...there`s allways something to do...but sometimes it doesn`t worth!
sorry i couldn`t help you!

no no, the phone IS OFF! The strange thing is that if you press a key display lights up but the phone is still off, never it turns on if I do not press on/off button (and I don't :) ). I will try with 3.3V Zener but I don't know if there will be current enough to make the diode work, I'll post when I try (asap :) )

Thank you anyway ;)
