Unlock Siemens A56 with serial data cable

How do I make a full back up?
I connected my A56 and serial cable...
but it says...phone not powered on....even though I powered it on.

Check Your Cable With Other Software And Other Phones.

First I tried to unlock it with USB....it didn't work..
than I ordered another cable of ebay.....now it's not working either....

Do i need any drivers for serial cable?
How do I configure it to work with my phone...

please babak....help me out.
