I have tried to use both dejan and dark flasher to flash my 5190. I want to do some backup first before I want to write to the phone. But all I got is boot count error once I press power. I have tried different boot and flash loaders and my LPT port was set to SPP or ECP, both doesn't work... My machine is just a P-120 with Win95. I found something interesting is when I use Flash Tool or Nokia471, both can let me read the phone (by choosing 5110). I have taken out the SIM out and disconnected the phone everytime after reading the phone. Can someone give me some suggestions? Or check list which I have troubleshoot this thing? Thanks!!

I get this all the time on one of my laptops so I just use another one do you have access to another computer if so try that. BTW what sw version is the phone? If it is 6.71 please send me backup once you made it.

I have a question now, since I can read the phone and backs up the flash file without problems using Nokia Flash Tool (it contains something else than 00ff), does that mean I already have a good and working communication between the computer and the phone? One of my computers is using Windows 2000 and it's a Athlon 1.4, I am not sure if it will be too "fast". I also have one Celeron 300A with Windows 98SE but someone it gives me almost the same error; I can't remember but I will try it again. I have an old 486 too but it has no harddrive in it and I don't have a DOS flasher program Yeah, I have read that some laptops may not work but man, this is only a P-120 with ASUS board in it.

The phone is 6.11 and I only have 6.11 partial. I have another 5190 with is v5.?? and I unlocked it with a serial cable. I could possibly get it upgraded to v6.71 and back up the locked flash to you but then I will have a locked phone I have been looking for 6190 partials too, do you have them?
