RAR files are archived files just like ZIP files for your PC. They are not for your mobile phone. Go to www.rarlab.com and download WinRAR, much better than WinZIP crap :)

If you think you canput .rar files on your phone, you should not have a 'smartphone'. You need a nokia 3310 mate !

@MAMAMOBILE, @jangrey20, Why you have internet connection? Mabe you didn`t heard about google. First learn to use computer after that start with gsm!!!

hi. can anyone tell me how can i install .rar file into my Nokia 3310? i have gprs and java already installed on it. do i need to put the .rar file into an mmc and insert it into my 3310? or do i need to install winrar on it first?

First win XP SP2 :D :D :D :D :D :D
You cannot install XP SP2 on 3310, Unless u upgrade ram to 512Mb and harddisk to 80Gb :eek: :D

And tht cant be done unless u change the hi-tech processer of the 3310 and replace it with a Intel Centuion Mobile Chip to process the data...
And its time to get a new 256mb G-force video ram upgrade...
And what about to connect it to xDSL line ??!!
PS: I Use 3310 too, already upgraded to XP SP2 dual boot with 2.6.15 Linux Kernel
but still cant find the rj45 plug in it :):):)
PS(Bis) : I just found the .rar plug it's just near to the power button.

if a question look dumb for u, it's simple : DON'T GIVE AN ANSWER..even if it's for decoraging begginners and new members..

install zipmansoftware to ur mobile ccopy .rar files to ur mobile. zipman will do the job ti unzip .rar .tar files

I finaly found the way to install WinXP on an old 3310 here's the pic showing it booting for the first time.
But infortunatly it hang just a couple of seconds after and it show me the horrible blue screen of death or should I say The GREEN screen of death.
Im waiting for your personal experiences, especialy if someone found the way to boot with a Linux img file !!
