I understand that to unlock a NEC E606 you need testpoint and just the TX,RX and GND tespoints. Also the cable should be a MAX232 cable.
I have a Samsung A300 cable. It has a jack for a power supply so I think it is a MAX 232. Are TX, RX and GND color coded ?. how can one tell which lead belongs to RX, TX and GND ?
better using an old siemens c35 cable mate or a moto T191
Why ? is RX, TX, and GND the same ...Is the type of cable relevant ?. I say the A300 because I have two, so I can afford to modify one. I would have to order a T191 cable.

The clip thats been produced and out next week doesnt use test points just plug into phone and press one of the buttons to unlock or other one to lock. ;)

i have siemens c35 cable. with you quote, u mean i just need a connector and connect it to nec phone? will it work. i have the 3 wires, tx,rx,gnd.
