Hi to all, I have readed a lot of complicated solutions in this forum to make tp on sl55. I'm using a simply solution long time ago... when first sl55 v16 was in my hands I was readed the wired solution (shortcircuit tp to gnd), but I was searched other gnd point with polymeter... It's more easy!

the easest way to make test point on sl55 is make a short-circuit with tin to nearest capacitor located just right... you can make it in 3 seconds with simply solder iron, don't need wires, don't need to make two solders, only one.

When you have unlocked or flashed your phone, you only need to put small qty of flux and touch the point with clean solder iron, thanks to the flux the tin will dissapear

In the picture you can see old testpoint (red) and my testpoint (blue)

I think is more easy... but now you don't need because is more easy to use the java patch

i have read three threads on unlocking SL55 but............

THIS SOLUTION ROCKS!!!!!

NO WIRES, NO RESISTOR, NO 5V SUPPLY. SIMPLY SHORT THE TESTPOINT RESISTOR TO THE CAPACITOR AS SHOWN USE FREIA 15 PHONE UNLOCKED TESTED ON SL55 NEW VERSIONS (V16 & V18)

Big thanks to The Cult for sharing.... ;)

you said make a short-circuit with tin to nearest capacitor located just right... now my question is what tin.... plz explain it to me more cos i have two sl55 at my hand waiting to unlock.

@SIXTUS: Use normal tin, same that u use for solder components. Use a small quantity... unlock it, after aply flux ... tin will dissapear at contact with hot-metal thanx to the flux.

@jusluke: I'm very happy to help people like u ;)

Just took a wire and bend it so it touched de testpoint and the gnd, then taped it to the ic next to it. First time it didn't make good contact, but second time it worked and i could unlock the phone without soldering. Should also work with a 500 ohm resistor. Good luck.

@ aldrex
try to short the testpoint resistor to ground with a 500 ohm resistor.

thecult
12-24-2004, 20:39
this method works with all versions, don't need resistors for v16

@CaddyTDIrider: ????????????????????????????????

i'm just reading my documentations ;)

but if it is work by "simply" grounding the resistor, then of course you do not need the other things :)

So if I understood good, I just need to short the tp & I'll can flash anytime I want!?

So there's the shorting soliution & java patch! Which solution is more better for read/write fullflash? I don't want to damage phone after few days in hands :)

I have made my SL55 photo & today will try this solution :) But I have one question: is SL55 works with shorted TP?! :)

thecult
01-07-2005, 16:06
dont worry Wyhniukas, solution works with your pcb if you make it fine. (don't forget to clean tin after process)

Wyshniukas

Few hours made it! But there is one problem, phone turns off suddenly...sometimes after 20 secondes & sometimes it's after 1min :( F*** something got wrong! Any ideas?:)

thecult

yes you have to clean the tin. The connection must disappear. The phone will reboot ever if you have the shortcircuit. If you have cleaned the tin and the problem persists, then there is other problem like wrong flash/eep or battery problems

This is a testpoint "read note on picture", Testpoint implies software and Data-cable to unlock.
I know your only joking with the question rigth...

Hi guys,

Just searching on internet for threads on unlocking a siemens sl55. I thought I could use a imei calculator to generate a unlocking code, but just as I read this thread, I now think such thing just isn't possible? No remote unlocking for sl55?

Just trying to help a friend out :)

It is nothing other as at other versions ;)

The side of the capacitator you marked is also GND ;)

So you made the normal testpoint

But very fine solution!

I like it :)
