I see that many themes for SX1, but when I download and try to aplicate
it Can't (remebering that only for 6600 or 7610)
I want to ask To Master, how to aplicate?
what should I do???
anyone have photo acute that compatibel for SX1??

SX1 doesn't support theme changing...

Humm... itīs seems simple.
Only need to change firmware instructions of Z: to E:
First copy EdiPic.MBM from z:\system\data\ to MMC.
With Winhex, open 07102004-K1_SiemensvA114_signed.exe (firmware), edit primary memory on unicode mode, look for z:\.system\.data\ that should be Z.:.\.S.y.s.t.e.m.\.D.a.t.a.\.E.d.i.P.i.c...m.b.m, change it to E.:.\.S.y.s.t.e.m.\.D.a.t.a.\.E.d.i.P.i.c...m.b.m, save and flash... seem very simple.
Harder seems the "theme builting"...

It is discovered by any of these it is file in Adobe Photoshop. and we edit it as you want.
But if you want to create valuable theme that read further. We create two files by the size of y"8khyeya and y"'kh'8, the first file part which will stand on skrinservere, the second file this is upper part. We go in it inet and we search for themes for Nokia 6600 or 7610. We copy the picture, which we videm on the site, chtoto type stripped picture from the screen. We put picture in our grafficheskiy editor. And we further drive on everything according to the sizes. Upper part into size BMP, and lower in GIF. Further we start Bitmap Convertor and we select "Add Bitmap" (in the figure it is designated as 1 point), we select there EidPic0.bmp EidPic1.bmp EidPic2.bmp EidPic3.bmp EidPic4.bmp. We place galochku near "24 bits" (in the figure it is designated as 6 point) and we harvest "Create MBM"(na figure it is designated as 4 point).
We push in into file EidPic.mbm in e:\.systam\.data. It is reloaded and in the honeycomb we go in the "menu" = > of "tuning" = > "telephone" = > the "standby mode" = > "background picture" = > "yes" and we select your skrinserver, which approaches your theme.

An user has made a program that put pics in mbm fileS and create the sis installation file with an UNIC UID (ordered from symbian developer)
it's simple :D
share it woth other SkizZO ;)
A) Your firmware MUST BE PATCHED (i use fw12 with stefanoG patch for fullscreen wallpaper & increase audio volume)
B) If you uninstall the theme make you sure, before reboot, to copy file eidpic.mbm to c:\system\data from e:\system\data
C) Save the sis file in a dir that no contains spaces & writing the extension
es: c:\name.sis --> oK :)
D) You can create a new theme and reinstall it (overwriting old theme), the UID assigned is developed by "symbian developer", then it's assigned ONLY for this sw

patching is easy, but only we need the right pathes ;)

go to www.neodigital.it and apply the patch vith vklay to SX1_International-uk-de-it_12_0001.exe , then copy from z:\system\data eidpic.mbm to c:\system\data (or install a sis theme), now you can update your phone :D
(if after update the system don't find eidpic.mbm, it doesn't start... then copy it before or make a format and the file will be copied)
..i hope another language can be patched but not another fw version!!! ONLY 12
will be "trasferred" eidbic.mbm from z: to c:\data\system (the system look for this file in another dir.. c:\system\data wich is editable)
Then we can owerwrite eidpic.mbm and + wallpaper.mbm = fullscreen wallpaper
IF YOUR PHONE IS PATCHED
If you delete eidpic.mbm (or uninstall sis files), MAKE you sure to have a copy of eidpic.mbm in c:\system\data before reboot, if not the cell doesn't start (howewer formatting c:\ the file will be opied again)

FOR NON PATCHED PHONES
The sis installer copy 2 files to c:\system\data:
- by default background.mbm is stored in c:\sys\data, then the image will be displayed (normal wallpaper)
- by default eidpic.mbm is stored in z:\sys\data, then we cannot edit it... the patch change drive to store image and sis installer overwrite it
....if you install a sis themes change lower background because the upper is in z:\sys\data, not in c:\sys\data (<-- patch) and we not see it...
Uninstall sis theme and all is ok!

uhm i think there are no problems with stefanoG.... (think)
this is the patch:
-if have fw > 12, downgrade it with a winswup fw (service..)
-Copy eidpic.mbm from z:\system\data to c:\system\data
-edit, with vklay, THE FILE : SX1_International-uk-de-it_12_0001_update.exe
...patch is only for fw 12 (he is working for 15) but i think another language is ok....
-PASTE THE PATCH IN VKLAY THEN APPLY it(program confirm if all done)
- RE-UPDATE YOUR PHONE!
...patch can be completed with wildskinZ, but cracked version is so unstable!!!! (the patch does not give any problem)
now you can use sis themes (remember:NEVER REBOOT WITHOUT EIDPIC.MBM IN C:\SYSTEM\DATA..... so FORMAT :( )
...if somebody want to explain better can do it.... i'm italian and don't speak wery well... as you see :D

vklay allow you to insert hex valors with 1 click (download it, open the fw 12 downloaded by siemens site, past the patch in the program and click on apply patch!!!)

yes, you are actually changing flash of phone and you are not allowed to do that...
if i install the patch is it possebel yo uninstall the patch/ nutralise its effect if my sx1 will be unstabell or i need to take the mob to a servies center for a repaire ????

Vklay/Freia need that your phone has Testpoint made. But after making testpoint, I think, Winswup wonīt recognize the phone anymore.
So you have too choose, or make testpoint and do it by Vklay/Freia or patch directly on Winswup file. But the point is patching Winswup file, so donīt use Vklay or Freia to read or write flash or you will have to make the testpoint.

I really meant the flash file, not the tutorial, the tutorial everyone knows (if loose few minutes reading and using the brain).

ah the flash file for Vklay you mean
if i managed to run Vklay with My SX1 i can read firmware of the patched one read another for the no patched one and get you the flashed file which is the difference between the 2 bin files but the problem i can't detect my SX1 using Vklay don't know which port to use and i tried the Virtual COM port thing didn't work
oh BTW it's ok FW15 works 100% with themes

now i'm using it with FW15 but i do it myself you know by messing with the pc PC RAM with an HEX EDITOR the old fashion way
but the problem is when your MMC is removed

if i edit it and change the letter from Z to C the if you format the SX1 the SX1 will create it???? or not????

The point is usually to save time and effort but if you think you didnīt waste time, well itīs ok... ;)
ok.... if you make the backgroundimage (stored in c:\system\data) with "mbm wizard" or the "sendo bitmap converter" you can load a bmp of 24bit !! (the phone by default store it at 16bit.

it put eidpic.mbm in c:\system\data and if phone goes bad, you can make a format and in auto it will copy eidpic.mbm in c:\system\data (then the phone boot again)
and you can also install sis themes ;) (NOT for nokia, but maked by wallpapizer)
Funny, I was going to ask wether if it is possible to put and patch eidpic.mbm directly to c\system\data instead of the mmc's e\system\data.

How did he modify it to autocopy the eidpic.mbm?

Ok, i've taken apart the patch by StefanoG from neodigital, because I don't need any changes to my russian t9 dictionary thank you :)
Because wmp patcher is still being developed, you'll just have to manually replace the block of unicode text.
Look for string:
//CP Z:\System\Data\dbProfile.db Apps\profileApp\dbProfile.db
// end Siemens AG commented out
replace with:
// end Siemens AG commented outfile.db
CP Z:\System\Data\EidPic.mbm C:\System\Data\EidPic.mbm
bytecount should be identical.
This simply replaces one of comments in ScriptInit.txt (file that gets executed after formatting of C drive) with copy command.
I don't personally use it, I prefer my themes on E drive, don't feel like formatting my C drive every time I screw up my MBM. cardreader's great :)

however i can speak with Math (wallpapizer ideator) to modifiy the output sis files.... the drive to install a theme could be showed during installation.... then the program can copy backgroundimage.bmp(174x68) in c:\system\data (with color depht at 24bit) and eidpic.mbm where you want ;)

I can't use the wallpapizer because I'm doing multiple themes in 1 eidpic.mbm (I'm using sendo bitmap converter). That way I dont have to replace the eidpic everytime I want to change themes. :)

His clock face seems to be transparent.
His themes are looking very nice with custom clock face and modded fonts!
anyone can chance clock.mbm and clockmask.mbm to achieve the same effect :)
you could write it directly to Z: (by modifying bitmap directly in WINSWUP) or, i suppose, move it to E: for easy change.
I haven't done neither, because I prefer digital clock :)

I'm from www.comunidad-siemens.com , a spanish forum, and we (with _spirit_ and vitali help) can change the eidpic and others mbm's files (like menu_folders), but:
First of all, i'm using iberian fw12.
- Can i use the Stefano patch?
- I must to do testpoint? If the answer is "yes", dont waste tour time reading more ;)
- How can i use the v-klay to patch my exe file?? i use it to patch s55 phone and fls/bin flashes, but never exe files!!
-mm... i'm soo tired maybe tomorrow continue with my questions, if i know more about it ;)

1. you don't need to do testpoint to modify firmware. use SX1 WINSWUP PATCHER. locate what you need to modify with WinHex and enter the offsets/data in the patch. save it and share it ;)
2. startup.mbm cannot be changed that easily. as far as I know, nobody is able to do it yet.

in future, I recommend making SIS files with Themerizer, so people with StefanoG and Z-TEAM patch can use them. It's painful to extract mbm manually. Also themerizer allows you to have more than one theme in one package.

hi everyone , its has been a good start in theme making , i just wanna ask the experts why we patch the sofware for e directory and not c and the themes i've downloaded are installed to the c directiory so that i have to paste eidpic from c to e everytime inorder to complete the picture?? thank u

because if you put the patch to C, and you haven't apllied stefanoG patch to restore EidPic.mbm on Hard Reset, then if you have erased EidPic.mbm accidently your SX1 will not reboot so you need to undo the patch in order to boot it,
but if we are on E, we can copy the file using a card reader

I see that many themes for SX1, but when I download and try to aplicate
it Can't (remebering that only for 6600 or 7610)

But how it's possbile to set font color (for dark themes)? The black font for clock isn't easily readable then...
asking for the same. i found on oslik forum modded, nice looking fonts for
digital clock...

Vklay/Freia need that your phone has Testpoint made. But after making testpoint, I think, Winswup wonīt recognize the phone anymore.
So you have too choose, or make testpoint and do it by Vklay/Freia or patch directly on Winswup file. But the point is patching Winswup file, so donīt use Vklay or Freia to read or write flash or you will have to make the testpoint.

Itīs easier to launch patched firmware instead of each user made itīs own... itīs just an idea.
The Siemens SX1 uses Series 60 version 1.2 and themes support comes with Series 60 version 2.0 that the Nokia 6600 uses.
I wanna ask you a questin. yout said that SX1 uses versinon 1.2 . Can we upgrade it to 2.0? please send me a mail. zfryhs@yahoo.co.uk. by the way my SX1 doesn't support SD and os 6.1s to os 7s is it possible

Symbian OS version can only be changed and decision made by siemens. Remember that Siemens doesnīt have the rights for OS7.0. Siemens only "bought" license for OS6.

Actually siemens is thinking about if next phones will have symbian or windows mobile.

well it's simple, you must have patched your SX1 before, (to c or to e)
and then you install .sis file (which is a thermerizer (thanks to oslik.ru for their hard work) ) to where you patched your SX1

noone have patched FW07, i think that better idea is to patch FW15 for louder speaker volume, it's possible, search www.oslik.ru
fw07 is LOUDER then fw15, from fw10 siemens has reduced the volume, but with fw15 has optimized audio output to prevent speaker damages (mine was broken)
I hope however fw15 is better

Yes modify is possible, but not sure if there is a "readyset" firmware to flash as on normal swup or update
