Something is wrong with some 256mb MMC´s. I don´t know what is, but it´s true. Main problem that happend to me, was that after 4 or 5 days of use, the MMC would get corrupted. Tried on SX1, and was ok, tried with 128mb and also ok. I guess is some bug between 66xx and 256mb MMC´s....

I agree with you vinoth, I was using 256 a year and a half ago, changed to 512 after 3 months because i'm fond of loading full movies at my phone and then for almost a year now, been using 1gb and the response is just fine for me. I just make sure that I keep using the mmc for everyhting and leave phone memory at minimum 4.5mb. I also make log setting at just 1 day only and all sms at mmc. I'm actually waiting for a 2gb but none yet at the market. I have used brands like ridata, transcend and lexar. regards.

U said that u have loaded movies into ur MMC. normally movies will be in "DAT" extension, the file size is large. R u using any compressing softwares or converting software.

What's New in OpenGL ES 1.1

OpenGL ES 1.1 emphasizes hardware acceleration of the API, but is fully backwards compatible with 1.0. New features in OpenGL ES 1.1 provide enhanced functionality, improved image quality and optimizations to increase performance while reducing memory bandwidth usage to save power. These include:

OpenGL 1.5 as a reference - the specification is defined relative to the OpenGL 1.5 specification.


Buffer objects provide a mechanism that clients can use to allocate, initialize and render from memory. Buffer objects can be used to store vertex array and element index data.


Auto mipmap generation can offload the application from having to generate mip-levels. Hardware implementations can potentially accelerate auto mip-level generation especially for video textures or when rendering to texture. A texture is considered incomplete in OpenGL ES if the set of mipmap arrays are not specified with the same type. The check for completeness is done when a given texture is used to render geometry.


Enhanced texture processing including a minimum of two multi-textures and texture combiner functionality for effects such as bump-mapping and per-pixel lighting. All OpenGL 1.5 texture environments except for the texture crossbar are supported.


Vertex skinning functionality using the oes_matix_palette extension allows smooth animation of complex figures and geometries. The extension allow OpenGL ES to support a palette of matrices. The matrix palette defines a set of matrices that can be used to transform a vertex. The matrix palette is not part of the model view matrix stack


User-defined clip planes permit for efficient early culling of non-visible polygons -increasing performance and saving power


Enhanced point sprites and point sprite arrays provides a method for application to draw particles using points instead of quads. This enables efficient and realistic particle effects. The point sprites extension also allows an app to specify texture coordinates that are interpolated across the point instead of the same texture coordinate used by traditional GL points. The Point Size Array extension permits an array of point sizes instead of a fixed input point size and provides flexibility for applications to do particle effects.


Static and Dynamic state queries are supported for static and dynamic state explicitly supported in the profile. The supported GL state queries can be categorized into simple queries, enumerated queries, texture queries, pointer and string queries, and buffer object queries. This enables OpenGL ES to be used in a sophisticated, layered software environment


Draw Texture defines a mechanism for writing pixel rectangles from one or more textures to a rectangular region of the screen. This capability is useful for fast rendering of background paintings, bitmapped font glyphs, and 2D framing elements in games


New Core Additons and Profile Extensions for the Common and Common-Lite profiles add subsets of the OES byte coordinates, OES fixed - point, OES single precision and OES matrix get ES-specific extensions as core additions; OES - read format, OES compressed paletted texture, OES point size array and OES point sprite as required profile extensions; and OES matrix palette and OES draw texture as optional profile extensions.

I had that problem with my N6600 a few weeks ago, I had to reformat the MMC using a USB card reader and start again! The problem probably is a crashed or corrupt program that's trying to load from the MMC when the phone loads. Try putting the MMC into a USB card reader, copy EVERYTHING (if there's programs and or documents you don't want to lose) to the hard drive, then format it using your PC and try it in your phone again!

Hello there Drugstore,
I had lost my all sms on my Nokia 7610, the msgs were stored in MMC, but suddenly it doesnt show any msgs. there were around 4000 msgs stored in MMC. I had checked thoroughly the MMC and find that mail folder in system folder has all the msgs stored. how i get all the msgs back to so that i can read them. the msgs are there in MMC but i cant read them as thay are not showing. Pls help as they are very important msgs.

Importing a skin
All JPG files on the phone are listed here. However, the search for the files may take some time, the process is indicated by the rotating circle at the bottom of the screen.
Select a file by pressing the joystick to use it as a skin. It will take some time to import it. Press Back to save the selected skin.
Only JPG files with the .jpg extension may be used.

Mp3 files
For the best quality, use 16kHz mp3 files, especially for Nokia 6600 and 7610 phones.
Nokia 7650 has a limited memory, therefore it is recommended to use low bitrate and frequency files, e.g. 32kbits, 8kHz.
You may use the free winLAME encoder [tutorial in pfd] to convert existing files to lower bitrates and/or frequency.
To grab your audio Compact Discs to mp3 files, we recommend to use Audiograbber

MY FONE MAKES AN ERROR SOUND WHEN I SWITCH IT ON WITH THE MMC INSIDE. PLS PLS HELP.

I can't access anything (menu. phonebook, etc). Pls Pls help.

I've tried deep formating and it only formats the fone.

however it works pretty well without the MMC.

HERE'S HOW I FIXED IT. THANX TO redhair25

"If your phone is also N6600, take the MMC out of the phone and put the battery in at an angle so you can still access the inside of the phone but with the battery contacts connected and turn the phone on. (battery will be sticking out the back of the phone at 45-degrees, make sure you hold onto it tightly in that position) Wait for the phone to load fully with the battery still angled out of the phone, then carefully slip the MMC in the slot and close the battery properly, making sure it stays connected and the phone remains on - now you can access all the documents (not programs unfortunately) on the MMC and even use PC Suite (if you have IR or BT to use it that is) to back up all your data then format the card using the phone.

If you don't want to reclaim any of the data on the MMC, just follow the above trick to gain access to the MMC (a kind of improvised hot-swap) and format the card using the phone without backing up the data

of course this will only work if you have a 6600 cos the MMC is on the opposite end of the battery recess!

If you do indeed have a N6600 and want a pictoral guide of what I'm going on about with the angled battery hot-swap thing, let me know and I'll PM them to you

If your phone is not a 6600 (even if it is for that matter) there's still another way to gain access to your files, but your phone must be a series 60 smartphone! All you do is simply find a friend who has a Nokia 6230 phone and put your MMC in that - because it has a different operating system, the application causing the f***-up won't be loaded on startup! Then use the 6230's PC Suite to copy everything of importance to a PC and again format the MMC.

Beyond these things, I don't know much else you can do - the tricks i've mentioned are all things I did myself when my phone buggered up a couple of weeks ago - the MMC loaded fine in the N6230, I could access everything (even recorded videos) using the 45-degree battery but in the end I still had to use the USB card reader to regain full use of it!

Ive got this annoying problem. I just got the 6680 and somehow the MMC is a little screwy. Ive got a couple of photos inside the memory card, but sometimes, it all goes missing, as if it was all deleted, but apparently not, cos after a few days.. it shows up again. This has happened twice. But it hasnt revealed itself yet. I also used a card reader, but it wont show. Everything else seems to be there except the photos! Can anyone pls help? Sigh.. :(

You need to have FExplorer then replace the .app file under Apps folder (ie. E:\System\Apps\...).

One thing though: i have lost the sound while playing the game, is that normal?

The controls seem to have changed as well. instead of the navigation keys, it's reverting to the 2,3, 7, 8 keys etc..

I have tried to install this application FACEWAVE V.4.1.6 on my NOKIA 6630. I don't think i could managed to run it. So when i tried to use application manager to remove it, it kept saying something like "close all applications? Y/N" By typing yes or no it's not doing the uninstall!

That means that the file is corrupt and the fone cannot read it properly. Normally this occurs on themes. It happens to every 1ns in a while. Try downloading the the file again.

Hi Guys, i have a miniature problem on my 6600, my LOGS and SMSes are all in random order. They used to be in order, normaly from most recent to the oldest. But now i find my new SMSes in the middle of the old one. The same goes for my Missed, Dialed, and Received numbers.

thanks very much mate for the appman application; it can be very useful in the future. I still didn't manage to find any process open for FACEWAVE. I am sure it's not open but maybe because it 's a cracked version, it might have screwed up things,

t's not giving me any error messages but it's annoying having a shortcut on the menu sitting doing nothing.

NB: I have also used FEXPLORER and deleted the folder of the application under E:\SYSTEM\APPS\ and switched off then on the phone and it's still there!

Guy, just get Advanced Call Manager. It works like a charm. I have it and I also use it to block "unknown" number. It works great! Do a search.

The 6600 has 12 or 16 megs or ram. YOU CANNOT INCREASE RAM. However you can free some of it or If you have less is because you are RUNNING too many programs. Get something like Appman and deleted unwanted programs that might be running in the background. OR you could also press the PEN key on your 6600 and delete (end) the programs manually. But Appman or Sysman or Switcher or taskspy can help you. Do a search.

hey there drugstore,
i had seen one MP3 player with 8 band graphic equalizer, but didnt saw its make and name of the software, it was installed in 6600. though it was an product of viking games, if u have this application ten pls pls post it here.

The only MP3 player that has a real equalizer is MP3PLAYER. However it is NOT that good. And yes Viking makes it. You can download by doing a search. However do not user versions higher than 3.02 since anything higher might not work with your phone.

But Even Advanced Call Manager Does Not Work On My Mobile! It Allows Even Blacklisted Callers And Then After Each Call, The Application Manager Turns Off The Program. My Firmware Version Is 5.27.

Download winrar.exe in http://www.rarlab.com/ and install it to your PC. After installation you can now extract/uncompressed files from the rar archives and install it to your phone.

Yes, forum db gets overloaded very often, causing "Busy" state.

You can always make your MMC your default msg storage folder. That way all your msgs are stored in this huge space with no problem of deletion or shortage of space. Simply go to Messages--Options--Settings--Other--Memory in use--and select your Multimedia Card. Voila!
There is one limitation though. Every now and then u'll receive this msg from your phone which says...."app closed ncnlist". But as far as I know, that is not a thing to worry.

I think there is a program called Msg storer, somewhere in this forum. You can search for it and see if it solves ur problem. Or u can tell Drug Store about it.....he is a genius I tell u.

i think this still doesn't solve gauravs24's prob, since he wants to backup his previously received msgs (not those msgs that he will be receiving). unfortunately, i do not know any applications that could transfer old msgs from phone to MMC or vice versa.
