No. DKU-2 can not be used for flashing. and PKD-1 is only protection (also stored algos) u have to have FPS-8 if u want to have original nokia flashing device. or u can buy Twister/Griffin/JAF etc....

6630 can be flashed by using DKU-2 cable and latest Pheonix (with PKD-1).
6630 firmware is updated via USB ADL flashing which does not require an FLS-4
or FPS-XX connected. ADL Flashing is similar to ADSP, so no need to connect
chinese datacable... just need DKU-2 on USB port.

As of now,, only Pheonix can flash this phone... other third party flashers
does not support this phone yet. As of now, I think no one can unlock this
phone...

i´ve already flashed 6630 with DKU2!

but 2nd flash failed...


1st flash: from 2.39.126 to 2.39.15 -> FLASHED OK!

2nd flash (just for fun*gg*) from 2.39.15 to 2.39.129 FLASH OK, POLLING PRODUCT ERROR!!

i don´t know why, maybe phone cannot be downgraded???

so now phoenix don´t recongnize phone, in LCD only appears NOKIA, after few seconds phone switch off (there is also NO BACKLIGHT!!)

so please,don´t flash your 6630, until nokia has corrected their ADL flash concept...

your phone will thank you :D

6630 cannot be downgraded as of this moment.. I have also 1 dead 6630
which was accidentally downgraded due to pheonix autodetecting the
product code and producing the default flash files will a lower version.

I am still working for a solution for this... very strange since the service
bulletin states that to fix downgraded phones, all you need to do is to
reflash it with the original or newer firmware. The question is, how to reflash
it when ADL flashing requires phone to be in Normal Mode? Downgraded phones cannot get Normal mode by themselves. So I suspect that flashing
these phones require a special procedure or equipment... maybe FPS-10 +
AD-23FS. Or maybe just need special battery to put phone in Local mode,
then call Normal Mode via some MBUS command.

6630 can be flashed by using DKU-2 cable and latest Pheonix (with PKD-1).


So, where can one get hold of a PKD-1? Or a clone? I've had a good search of the net and can't find anything for sale/download.

I take it that a Phoenix Black Box does the job of a PKD-1? Or am I wrong?

And, if one were to theoretically obtain a version of Phoenix that does not require a PKD-1 to work, could one then flash the 6630 with just the DKU-2 cable?


One more thing, I've had a .pdf file from Nokia detailing the flashing procedure for the 6630 using USB and Phoenix, and the procedure mentions installing the "latest RM-1 data package". Is this the 6630 PC Suite? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?


Basically, I need to remove the T-Mobile branding on my 6630, i.e. a one-off flash. I don't need it unlocked and won't be doing any more phones, so if it's possible to do with just a standard DKU-2 cable then I'd love to know.

Yes, a few people I have spoken to in the UK have had their 6630s unlocked by people using Griffin clips.

More solutions are inevitably on their way.

Just means you need the latest 6630 flash files.

Although how you flash them seems difficult at the moment many flashers "killing" the phones - i'm hoping for a solution for UFSX-3 soon :D

Yep, the RM-1 is indeed the 6630, that's why I was asking for RM-1 firmware in my last post. Sorry if I wasn't clearer :)

And it seems as though the majority of dead phones are the result of being flashed with older firmwre that what was already installed. The 6630 does not support this and will not boot until reflashed with newer or equivalent firmware to what was on there before.

I'm ready to do mine, just need v3.54.111 or later RM-1 flash files.

U can flash it with a DKU-2 cable but at the same time u will also need the PBB(Phoenix Black Box). But remember u can only flash the same version or upgrade the version. If u try to downgrade, ur phone will go dead n then it can be repaired only on a FPS-8 box. So b careful while flashing.

first u get pkd 1 dongle and run nokia phoienix new verson
in phoienix new verson option for usb flashing mode.
but u r flash ur phone with usb.but ur phone must be on.
