there are two types of files that can 9500 excel can open:

1- .xls which is for windows excel and need to converted whenever you opened in 9500.
2- EPOC file which is 9500 excel or word and it doesn't need to converted whenever opened in 9500, but it will be only for 9500 excel

you can converted when you are transfering between your PC and 9500 through nokia 9500 pc suite or when you are using 9500 excel, in Save As you can the file format so you can choose EPOC or windows.

Dear All,
I have 2 problems in my 9500,
1- during the installation of some programs (like Irremote s80) , at the middle of installation process the installation stops and a message comes up saying:

Access denied

2. after installing some programs like (smart profiles) the installation completes successfully but when trying to start the program a message comes up saying:
Note
System:
Operation is not supprted

So if you know how to solve the problem please post your sudgestions.
It is very clear that you have downloaded & set up software that is not compatible with your phone.
Pay attention to the version of any software that it must be compatible with your phone.
This problem usually happens when some fellows upload software without indicating the compatible phones ( you can have 5 or 6 versions of the same software , each version is compatible with only some nokia models or series)
My Advice to you is to remove the incompatible software & start searching for the correct version

* Allow deactivate - choosing "Yes", you can set the profile deactivation time and the profile you want to activate after this one;

Calendar rules:
In this dialog you can set Calendar rules.

Best Profiles works with your Calendar! If you have a meeting recorded in the Calendar, you don't have to add a line to your Best Profiles schedule. The program will automatically select the defined profile when it finds the keyword assigned for the profile.

For example, you have a note in your Calendar about a meeting from 9.00 to 10.00 but you think that you may forget to switch your communicator to the Silent profile. So you want your Best Profiles to switch to it automatically at 9.00 and then switch back to General (or any other) profile at 10.00. This is what you have to do in your Best Profiles is to specify a keyword (we recommend to place it in special symbols, e.g. #meeting#). When Best Profiles finds this word or word combination you defined, it'll switch to the profile you've defined for this keyword automatically.

It seems that you are new to installing soft ware to communicator, so here are the steps:
1) first you must have two softweres:
A) Winrar
B) Nokia pc suit

2) Decompress your RAR. file using Winrar.this will give up a ( SIS ) file .
3) using Nokia PC suite : Make sure that PC Suite is runing and your phone is connected click on the sis file , a pc suite window will open asking you if you want to install this program click yes , another windwo will pop up indicating that the SIS file was copied to your mobile and will tell you to finish the install on your phone
4) open the cover of your phone and follow the install instructions till you receive a window on your mobile that install was successful.

Ok Guys!

Here is the solution how to get the latest smartmovie to work with your communicator. Follow these steps exactly as i write. Note that these method only works if you reformat your phone.

01. format your phone
02. set the system date to 2006 January 01
03. install smartmovie 2.76 + register it with the keygen provided in the zip
04. install smartmovie 3.00
05. if the icon dissapears from the desk, dont worry just reinstall smartmovie 3.00 without uninstalling it
06. open smartmovie then play one of the demo files, then exit
07. set the system date to 2006 June 03, then restart your commi
08. install smartmovie 3.21
09. if the icon dissapears from the desk, dont worry just reinstall smartmovie 3.21 without uninstalling it
10. open smartmovie then play one of the demo files, then exit

Enjoy your smartmovie 3.21 full version

P.S. One more thing - You don't need to do these steps every time, as smartmovie (3.21) stores the registration status in the file "C:\SYSTEM\DATA\EmptyEvent.xmx". This is a small file (12 bytes length), if you save this file, later you can restore your reg status from it by copying it to its correct location. (THE FILE NAME VARIES WITH DIFFERENT VERSIONS OF SMARTMOVIE)

brother here the steps:

1- install powersafe into your phone.
2- copy the crack file in is directory Memory card/system/app/powersafe.
3- Then it will ask to replace press replace and then software is yours.

I am in search of an call manager application (which I wont' mind buying if it is in b/w $10-15) which supports personal voice greeting.

Similar application which I can find around is SmartAnswer (which don't support 9300) and Advanced Call Manager (it dont have the personal greeting for 9300, while all other features is equally compatible in S60 and S80).

Actually I am using Backup contact on 6600 & has backup of that file.Now I want to put all those on my 9300 but no software is available for s80.If anyone can provide me with this software?

I tell you how i did'it with my phones ( 6650->9500).
I saved the contacts from 6650 in .wab format then in PCSuite 6.4( from N9500 CD) with synchronize and at options select another address book ( not Outlook or Outlook Express ).
