Hi,
I was so irrititated with my Nokia 6630. Why is it that it restarts abruptly? Is there any software/hardware available so that I can upgrade/patch this problem. Thanks.

Yes tried flashing, formating, but result is same. Must be hardware problem.

i have 4 7610 & 2 6630 with this problem.
i thought that it was comwarior virus and i formated mmc an formated headset but this problem still ...........
i have same problem
upgrade firmware, format phone and mmc did not help
which part of hardware could be faulty?
phone (6630) is brand new unlocked (tim network)
it restars once or two times a day
Till now I done 5 pcs of Nokia 6630,restart:
tried flashed them,
formated them
Solution for all of them has been hardware repair only

i also expirience this to my 6680... it will stop for a while for example i am typing a message then it will pause then restart the nokia will show and it will start again sometimes my theme used b4 it start will loose then the default theme will be used... its such irritating... if i will format my phone memory all the messages and contacts will loose right??? how can i back up it... via computer???

round of it.

The solution on the Nokia restart are two.
One is the hardware reworking on the screen connector and around it.
Other one is antivirus installing on the phone and scaning the phone with
Anticom warriors antivirus
Thats is all.

Already done:
-Format (HARD)-> so no viruses....
-Software upgrade
-NO MMC inserted
Any idea??

bro.,Nepra and Pazeth is right, you just have to format the device and memory card...
Format,etc... will not to solved this problem.

First format user aria & format mmc card
if not the you have to online update with nokia site
Just repaired mine. Phoneix->WCDMA->TUNE
Phone no more restart....

your problem whis 6630 restart .... flash the phone whis usb cable if the problim still you must change the rap and the flash from a ded phone

your problem whis 6630 restart .... flash the phone whis usb cable if the problim still you must change the rap and the flash from a ded phone

It is HW problem which could be resolved with helping of SW...NOKIA need to make a choice.
With NOKIA's new fls.file RM-1/v.6.03.40 (the latest firmware) the problem still exist!
On the end I want to say that my solution make that phone work normaly, without restarting, but I dont like this solution...

First check LCD,and than soldering points of X4401(LCD conn.)
Try to change Z4403,Z4402,if not - reball D4800(OMAP/HELEN).

Dear Friends. I also had the same problem with N6630. Nokia has announced the replacement for my handset. The swapped handset also had the same problem. But, once more they tried their level best and told me that, they have changed Flash IC. It is now a relief.
Further more I have some tips to avoid this problem :
Always keep the Antivirus Priority on Highger Level.
Handle the Keypad as smooth as possible.
Dont be harsh with the Keypad.
While using Bluetooth Connection, never run other applications.
Before using Applications, scan the Device.
Most importantly, always update your Virus Definitions.

Ok I have/had same problem...
Nokia 6630, keeps rebooting and when it starts it tries to log onto wap/web but cant because theres no access points defined, also tries to send a copy of a recieved txt back to the person who sent it but not as a normal txt rather as a kind of MMM, reboots every few minutes.
Flashed with various firmwares by JAF and also did the online update by nokia but still exactly same problem, also formatted phone/factory reset and mmc format/reset, no joy.
Just installed the 'Disinfector' from afew post ago and it found 5 viruses, cleaned and hasnt rebooted in 5mins so thats a good sign, hopefully its sorted.
I think the reboot problems have different causes so need different cures...
- Check for viruses
- Leave mmc out and see if it makes a difference
- Get latest firmware, not partial flash that nokia update does (20meg) but full flash (80-100meg) of version 6+
- as a last resort reflow but thats a tricky one
- Get nokia to sort it out :)
Oh and why would you need to change the display module zeeqsystems and OLUJA? In most of the 'reebooting' cases the display is working fine and doesnt need to be tampered with.

seprate format of phone & mmc .....all fine:)
I had same problem, no formate worked for me.
I just full flashed it with
v 6.03.40

and its gone.
