8310 Insert sim [Archive]

I just got this phone refurbished from the Orange shop but it keeps on saying "insert sim" is this a software prob or is it because i tried to unlock with a code?

It sounds like a hardware problem if the phone doesn't register that a sim card has been put in. If the wrong sim has been put in you would get "sim registration fail" message. I would take it back to Orange.

You must look to the right of the sim reader there "should" be a small square IC at the edge of the board, often it gets knocked off the board or has dry joints try resolder it first and If its missing you can bridge it out with wire or use a small resistor network of low value for this job

first check if the sim card reader is connected in right way to the sim interfaces, u can change the drive second if the lines completely connected.
