the red button doesn't work, so i can't turn on and off the phone
but I have observe that when I Unlock my SL45 with Siemens Unlock 5.1(kSie) it 's switch the phone automatically on
So I can't turn the phone on and off with Red Button, but I can turn it on with kSie-the phone starts automatically
Maybe it.s a hardware problem-I don't know
maybe there is a patch for this problem-like for the side buttons
when the buttons doesn't work we can apply a patch and the vollume buttons we have under numeric buttons
maybe somebody can make this patch
the phone isn't dead-I use it all the time
I don't know what to do
Have I explain my problem clear enough??
:) :) :)
You need to take off the front panel of the phone off and clean the keybord contacts. If you don't know how to "undress" ;) your phone I can provide you with a link to a film where the fone is disassembled:
http://www.slka.vdns.pl/
You must then click DOWNLOADER and later INNE. Download the film (the first item to download).
I hope this will help you, because it is a very common problem with this phone and in Poland many people managed to fix their phones thanx to this "manual".

There's a patch. So it'll help to switch your phone ON, to switch OFF well.... remove battery?
;*** POC. Power On when Charged ***
;Firmware : sl45v56
;Author : rizapn
;Created : Aug 28, 2004
;Phone will be turned ON if it is charged.
;There is already a version for C45v50 by SaBodyn and converted to
;SME45i04 by Lalo, but this release use a different method.
;It uses DeadManS entry-point for charged condition.
0x454F28: DAC1EC22 DAC03208
;It will overwrite all patches running in the charged condition.

Well, there's also this:
3AD415: DBF832 01B202
It is written on the base of "key 1 shortcut patch". When you hold 1 it will turn off your phone instantly.

and will this patch 3AD415: DBF832 01B202 turn my phone on when I hold the key 1 or not?
No, I'm afraid not, because this is the function responsible only for critical phone turn off - it turns off the phone ie. when you remove your battery, this is the function in the software.
If you are interested in it in greater detail take a look at the polish forum:
www.siemenssl45i.gsmhosting.net/board and type 01B202 in search mode to read more about this patch.

I think maybe there's something wrong on board pad (under button) at Red button. You should try another one.

One question German Scholar. When you open your phone how does the downside of your keypad looks like? I opend my phone today because the left softkey doesn't worked anymore. And the the silver contacts were corroded. I used chlorine acid 2.5n (~10%) to clear them. Just use some "cotton wool sticks" with a bit of the acid and the corrosion should be removed (In my case it smelled like full nappies) and a blank silver side is visible :)
So step two: I used Diethylether to clean the contacts and to get rid off the acid that stayed on the pad. Better would be isopropylalcohol or dichloromethan (!! Caution maybe this solvents damages the pad.... dicholoromethan is intended to cause cancer - but it's one of the best solvents for such operations imho)
Please don't use petrol (lighter fuel) to clean the mobile. This organic compound can not completly be removed. Have fun
In the end: I'm not kidding!
