Yeah, but as you can see on your searched thread, the only posting is regards USB cable. And the diagram posted looks like it is T100 to E700 conversion. I can see the USB conversion, but i want to use the original samsung software and this is serial based. My question is what coloured wire does which operation on T100 cable, ie. tx/rx/power etc. or does it require completely different cable, as i cannot find supplier of D500 cable, so as always i look for advice on conversion methods Thanks
yes but sureley tx and rx will be in same place on phone if you are using usb or com cable ? or is there a com and usb version of the d500 phone to ?
just check pinout on warious samsung cable and you will se what collor tx rx and gnd will have
this is just a example,
tx. white
rx. red
d in (blue or orange)
d out (blue or orange)
gnd green
+ 4-5v yellow
pinout
rx 14
tx 13
gnd 8-11
A very good point regards the USB and serial pins being the same, monday morning back from hols, brain still on holiday. I will try and post results the only problem i can foresee, is bridging pins and resistors as in T100 - E700 conversion

You should be able to find real factory made D500 cables easily now. Teleway released them last week and most resellers already have them in all formats...
Some reseller give the whole set of cables (A300/N400/R2xx/A200/A288/A100/ A188/SGH-2200/SGH-600/2100/2400/N100/S100/S105/e700/A800/D500).......
:)
a little tip, if you have saras boxes and perhaps a uni box you will have a bunch of the same phone cables, just change pinout of one of them and you have all the cables you need and you don't have to buy cables for high prices.
even better buy connectors for x$ pcs and just soldier on the wires and mount a rj45 connector on the other side
you can make all the cable you ever need and it will not cost you "anything"
Having issues with:-
8,11 short ------------- GND ie what does it mean.
And also do you have to bridge 1 to 14?
All questions which run the risk of sounding stupid, but hey, i wake up eveyday and run that risk! ;)
