For those in the U.S., obtaining the housing screws for many Sony Ericsson phones is an ordeal. While available in the U.K. most suplliers are unwilling to ship outside the country. After frustrating searches I was finally able to find a U.S. available screw that fits perfectly. The only problem is that these machine screws have a hex-head (allen wrench) instead of a torx T6 head.

The full measurements of this replacement screw is as follows:

M1.6 thread, 5 mm length, 0.35 mm pitch

I found them at McMaster-Carr, the large industrial parts supplier. They classify it as a Metric Class 12.9 Alloy Head Cap Screw.

They look very similar to the original Torx T6 machine screw used by Sony Ericsson. The McMaster-Carr P/N is 91290A022 and they are available via the Internet at $8.63 plus shipping for 25.

This machine screw uses a 1.5mm metric allen wrench.
