Hi ! I bought the agere-attack for unlocking 2 days ago. I tried to unlock a samsung p735, it works, blazing speed but while I want to unlock a samsung x426 AT&T version, software version 1.6, the phone cannot unlock. When i press unlock, it just loaded up and said error, and shows "...key failed." Just would like to know what happened ? Did I do something wrong or I cannot unlock this phone ? Please help... Thank you !

Connect the phone via a serial cable (I use original Samsung v200 but aftermarket will be fine). Select X426 or X42x (depending on your version of AA). Press unlock and hold down the power button on the phone. The phone boots and the process window in AA will display Success in writing unlock!! . If it does not display this message, leave the phone on, press unlock, hold down power again. It can also unlock while turning off.
If all else fails, try setting AA for other models like V200, but that should really not be needed. All versions of x426/x427 are supported.

I think I encountered your problem. It took a few tries, but it worked. I will discuss this issue with Elco and see if he can make a change in the next update.

thats a cable problem !! who is your reseller ? and what cables did he provide you ? it would be nice , if u can take a picture !!

The cable two cables are Sam V205 & Sam E810.

I can confirm that there are some x426 phones that put up more of a fight than others. With these, as I have said and Elco has agreed, you will need to try a few times. After pressing unlock, hold power on the phone. It does not matter if you are turning it ON or OFF.
So we just have to keep trying then...........

Yes and it will definitely work. Make sure you have good connection with your cable.
It never takes me long...
And by the way, these x426 only acccount for about 5% that I have seen and I unlock mostly x426 and x427 phones lately...

If anyone continues to have this problem, please press *#1111# or *#9999# to display the firmware version of the phone and post it here.
I've had that sim crash problem aswell. From what I read, and it kind of makes sense, I think its to do with the difference between fido's old and new sim cards. Fido's old simcards used M32 sims, and the newer ones use SM32, which have more memory i guess. Pretty sure the older sims have serials from 8930237010522****** and the newer ones are 8930237010722*******
I'm just messing around w/ different firmwares right now with the x426 I got to try and solve the sim crash problem.

No news till now becose i dont have that phone model and that sim card type to test.
sim crash problem exists on most samsungs I've tried w/ new fido simcards (on the back of them they say SM32 after the sim card number) The old fido cards work fine (M32, M32.a, ST32, etc).
Its something to do with more memory for text messages or something on the new sims, and samsung doesn't support it properly. I've had sim crash problem w/ x426/x427, e315/e316, and some others I can't remember.
I have a D500 right now, and that one takes the new sims without a problem - so I think samsung has since fixed up that problem.
... So, no solution and I doubt there ever will be.
