Hi,

What versions of SPV and SPV E100 phones does the Talking Clip support?

I have successfully unlocked E100 v1.13 in around 45 seconds ;-)

However, is it safe to modify the clip such that it would accept 6v external
power instead? I am concerned because my customers might kill the phone
when batteries fail. I am telling my customers to always use Energizer Alakline
batteries and avoid using cheap batteries... but since there is not battery
"LOW" indicator, how will they know when to change the batteries?

I have to say that I find this product very stable in unlocking SPVs!!

I have some minor problems in Samsung phones though,, hard to determine
which unlock function to use for a specific model which is not listed in
your text file.

Hi X-Shadow,

The device is designed to run on AA or AAA batteries, you can flick down a paddle inside, to make it take AAA batteries.

In regards to using and external power source, I am sure you can try something, but the device is designed so it needs power from each and every one of the batteries, so you may have some issues doing so.

There is a battery low indicator, because when the device is low in battery it doesn't have enough power the ic that runs the voice properly, so rather than talking, the clip just will make a noise like a tv not tuned in properly. :D

What are the samsung phone you are reffering to?

If you are referring to the Samsung E800 or E700, then you must have the phone off with the battery attached and disconnected from the cable, select the phone in the menu and then when it says the phone must be off and the lights start flashing like a christmas tree then you plug the phone in.

please check:

1. Make sure that you are in canary mode (bootloader mode/tri-color)
2. Clip connected to usb->ps2, ps2->serial, serial->spv
3. Clip has sufficient/new batteries
4. Spv cable has 9V Battery connected
5. You've selected SPV in clip
6. After "phone must be on" you've pressed the select key on clip

Hope this helps.
