That was some scary stuff, but setting date back to 25th January worked. setting the date back any further program asks you to check the date (very clever stuff) running windows 98se tested on NEC e313 today unlock succssful. :)

here is the real 100% working fix for the date problem with the nec unlock software:

this will work for all those who have set the date to 25/01/2005 and getting the error about having messed about with the date

1. change the date to 25/01/2005
2. delete the unlock software off your pc
3. go to my computer then to local disk c: (or whatever letter your harddrive is) and delete the file called unarmmap
4. double click WINDOWS folder then double click TEMP folder and delete the file called 21A67A48.TMP
5. reboot your pc
6. software will now work fine

make sure you do this in this order or it wont work!!!

you will need to re do this when the date on your pc changes

hope this helps folks, this is the first forum i have ever posted on and the only reason i have is that i cracked this fix this afternoon after doing what everyone says about formatting the pc etc... this DOES work

Best is TAKE a SPARE hard disc.
Before connecting that HDD to PC - change date of system from BIOS. Say 1/1/2005.

Now boot the computer with BOOTABLE CD of Win98 OR with floppy.

Install win98. If u need install display drivers.

Extract NEC FREE. Enjoy !

It takes 25 minutes maximum to become up n running again.

-=Now whenever you need your mega disc - disconnect this HDD - connect your original fully loaded HDD=-

AND whenever you need this NEC hdd - modify the DATE before connecting it.

We must not SHOUT this much for a FREE program. Pressurize your nerves please. Use a little bit BRAIN. ----------- i think so.

Have you unselected the manual/auto box at top, checked in device manager which port is OBEX and then selected it from the new menu after clicking UNLOCK??

If not, then do this and you will be ok!!

Sounds like you are using a basic data cable not an unlocking lead or a modified data cable. Hope this helps

What it is with this sw is if u do open the sw everyday then just need to change the clock back to 25/01/05, however, if you do not use it everyday and use it just every few days then what u do is this :
-run the sw and u get error
-close error message down
-delete the key file it has created in the nec sw folder
-delete the temp file c:\windows\temp\21A67A48.TMP
-run the sw again and it should work

If it still does not work before u get the sw error change the date to 27-01-05 and then after u delete the temp file change it back to 25-01-05

This is just my experience - does not guarantee it works for everybody :)

Just found another little tip but really need someone else to test it out for me. It works fine for me but if someone else who is having problems with the date please try this and let me know if it works.

When you have changed the date and get the error message that you have messed with the pc clock. Dont close the error message but delete the key file. Once you have deleted the key file close the software down then go to the recycle bin and restore the key file then run the software. Should work every time. The solution i posted previously i have had problems with it working occaisonally and not other times. Please someone who has had the problems of not being able to change the date without getting an error message please try this and let me know if it works

Have you delete the 1.exe file or loader file... You need to leave them as they are don't delete anything else just restore the key file then double click the loader file... Let me know please

Hi guys.. seeen loads of solutions for NEC here.. two of them worked for me also..

First the simple one i jus changed the date back to 25th and started work on one pc..

However on the other one it kept sayin date been changed and dint come up..
Second solution which worked for me was.. (since i have the copy of nec program on cd)
(i) change the date to 25th
(ii) delete the program
(iii) restart the pc
(iv) Copy the fresh software again from the cd.. and run the loader

second one worked for me when message came up about date been changed.. Hope it'll work for u guys also..

my soft nec now working. today working, nice solution. try it....... working 100%. tested in in 10 PC. no problem
just make one more try
download FileMonkey from www.monkeyjob.com/FM.htm,install program and launch them,select windows directory,press on dates,mark on subfolders and hidden folder,mark all date and time and put one date from january ex 01/01/2005 and time what you want.... now press on start program will ask you if you are sure for subfolders press proceed,wait to complete press close and close program.now change date on your pc somewhere between 01/01 and 25/01 2005.lanch loader.exe and I hope will work.for me work without restart.if still not work you may try to erase key from registry,temp file,unarmmap and win386.swp.but 99% will work just with date of file changed.
