View Full Version : 3300 Phone Restricted Imei & Product Code Corrupt
Hi All
The Great MP3 phone was all okay till date i opened the phone just for fun and tried to switch it on without proper casing and in no time the phone said "Phone Restricted". To add some more it said Imei ??????-??-??????-? Along with Product Code ??????.
I am using UFS3 so i tried to Erase flast 3x and then flashed phone but still all in vain. I know there's no way of patching the MCU, but i dont wanna get in this UEM replacement stuff coz most of the ICs in India are duplicate and there's no Gurantee the phone will be okay or not.
I am trying to write UEM, which i created through PM. But still its not helping me. Has anyone ever fixed this problem.
Still any solutions availabe. I am in big S**t.

And yes phone gets restarted exactly after 32sec....

sounds uem chip bin damaged/dislodged
The Board is Fresh one.
Absolutely no sign of hardware damage, and unless being sure its a hardware problem i dont wanna make it hardware.
Its a sincere request for rpl to all forum member........

WHen i read the phone in griffin, it said ?? in imei and product code, so i wrote an rpl and got a product code but still the imei remained the same(????). So i generated ask and got the rpl from griffin team. I wote the file and the phone booted up normally. But after approx 30sec the phone gets off. In warranty menu the imei says 00000000000. Where as *#06# says my correct imei.
Now, is it imp to change uem, though board looks all fresh. If not then how can i repair the imei in warrany menu and prevent the switching off problem.
Please help me out of this.

When you opened the phone,
some of the pads which connect front board with main board
got connected, which caused short-circuit
inside the UEM ... thats why your phone resets after 30secs.
also, some UEM security bits got screwed
and you cant set original IMEI in phone
solution is ....
CHANGE uem ... and if you want to keep current imei,
make an ask->RPL file ... and write it down
into new UEM ... that will help for SURE
if you have problems with setting original imei,
try reflashing the phone,
since for setting original imei (into phone's eeprom area)
phone must be in LOCAL MODE ...
and on display must be LOCAL MODE text
so ... in current state ... if you dont get LOLAL MODE
on phone display ... (stupid) griffin can't set original imei.
try these stepas also :
- erase all flashes in phone with griff/UFS
- FullFlash the phone
- write PM file
- write RPL file
if still the same ... well, you know ... UEM change :)

Can you give me a confirmation about checking a UEM.
Is it true that a false uem switches off the phone at 32sec where as a good one takes it to 40sec.
After changing the UEM, shall i directly write the rpl generated by griffin team(which seems short as compared to other normal griffin rpls). or write a full rpl, and then flash then pm.....
After all i dont wanna take a risk.

yesterday i put new UEM on 8310 .... and no ANY time limit ...
i put UEM, powered on the phone, IMEI = ????????????
and phone stays on as long as you want
RPL that you have is only for flash data repair,
it will not put old, phone original IMEI in UEM
so you need another RPL, full one
- change UEM, check if phone stays on for a minute
- erase all flashes
- flash Main Flash + Lang PAck
- write Full RPL
- write PM
- do ALL resets etc.
