I've recently bought a platinum talking clip, upgraded to latest 4.1 version.
I've diagnosed and all are activated, using Brand new AA Energizer alkaline batteries.

Also i've Unlocked 7650 and reset it's lock code to 12345 with no problem.

But tried on two (2) 1100 phones, goes to local mode, clip says "ok shutdown" but phones still locked (had to use ufs to unlock instead).
Steps done:
Phone is on and connected to clip
selected Nokia -> DCT4 -> DCT4 Unlock "say's phone must be on"
pressed select twice (clip lights progesses and phone is in local mode)
clip say's "ok shutdown"

tested phone, "SIM not valid"
verified with ufs using "info" yep, still locked

Tried to test it on 5510 and 7110 security codes, i purposely changed the code to for example 11111 clip say's "ok shutdown" but security code still not resetted to 12345 instead to the code i set it to.
Steps done:
Phone is on and connected to clip
selected Nokia -> DCT3 -> DCT3 Reset security "say's phone must be on"
clip say's "ok shutdown"

Phone is off and connected to clip
selected Nokia -> DCT3 -> DCT3 Reset security "say's phone must be on"
Turned on phone then press select
clip say's "ok shutdown"

but code still not resetted.

Although there are alternative ways to do the above mentioned tasks, It is quite disturbing that my brand new clip can't do the job. I tried and tried but still the same results :( i've checked the cables and they are 100% ok as i have a data cable that i modified to fit the clips and they are working fine with nokiatool/logomanager/dct4fbustool_by_maestro. And since the clip is supposed to be portable, this is going to be a problem.

I can't say that the clip is faulty coz it does the other jobs flawlessly. Am i the only one experiencing this type of problem?

Any ideas?

This may be the 3310 cable you are using, the cable with the M BUS / F bus switch ( 3 wires inside )don't work with platinum clip, both M and F bus is require the same time, you will need a 3310 cable with 4 wires.

Thanks datacablelondon and greatly appreciated, that sorted out my dct3 problems :) I was hesitant to open up the cables coz of the warranty seals, but its just the cables so i opened them up and found out that most of my dct3 cables have 3 wires, had to mod them to four wires. Thanks again.

I havent notice this in the list so please add to list of unlocked phones:

Nokia 6510/8310 Unlocked and security code reset 100% works
Samsung D410 Unlocked and lock code reset 100% works

Failed on:
Nokia 1100 and 2300 - "communication error shutdown"; "unlock error shutdown"; fax/modem like sound with "phone type, shutdown"; "Unknown phone type, shutdown"; "ok shutdown" (but stlll locked)
cable checked with three (3) wires blue, white, and black (tx,rx,gnd) and is configured properly. Imei is not ???, is unlockable via code or tornado. Any ideas?

Observation: I noticed that in samsung phones unlocking+lock code reset usually resets the phone's default settings but no data loss (images,contacts,etc) But in nokia dct4 security code reset causes the phone phone to its dafaults with some data loss (contacts,sms,mms,settings)

the platinum clip button requires you to push hard, iv noticed that the button is flat on mine hence it needs a harder press....try that maybe you pressing to softly...as its not as sensitive as it looks..

Select = to choose the brand you want to unlock, i.e. sonyericsson / nokia / etc...to choose say panasonic, keep on pressing Select button (the button on the left) until you reach panasonic.

Enter = to enter the desired menu. e.g. press Select until you reach panasonic, then to enter the panasonic menu, press the Enter button (the button on the right), clip will say gd68/gd88...if this is not the model you require to unlock, then press Select button until you reach desired model...after this you press the Enter button again, and so on.

1. put 4x AA batteries into platinum clip
2. insert main usb to ps2 cable to clip
3. connect nokia 1100 ps2 cable onto main cable
4. insert phone battery into 1100 cable
5. connect cable and battery on back of phone, first sliding in the top end and then pushing down the bottom end, make sure is firmly in place
6. power on phone
7. press Select button on clip until you hear "Nokia", then press Enter button
8. press Select button until you hear "DCT4 Unlock", then press Enter button
9. clip will say "the phone must be on" (which you have already done so)
10. 1 led on clip will flash (this stage is meant for you to get your phone status ready, but you have already done so at this stage), then press Enter button
11. clip led will light up 1 by 1, showing progress of unlock
12. once is done, clip will say "ok, shutdown" - thats it, disconnect phone, put in alternative sim, and voila!!! :)

because you dont have activations for sonyericsson rsa and vk mobile, therefore you wont be able to use these 2 brands, when trying to unlock one of these phones you clip will say "please request activation", which is exactly what you have to do, activations are chargable.

lol @ take the p88$...hes takng a stand mate!!! mate you really really should ask your resseller to DEMONSTRATE wag1 next time your baffled....then you wont say theres faults!!! try using it upside down...obviously get into a handstand otherwise you wont be able to see whats happening...if you cant try the wall for support whilst upside down...

maybe you got toooo soft fingers dont cut your nails for several weeks and use your nail tips to dig into the button

Samsung E330 doesn't unlock with v45 software. The phone enters TAT mode, but then the clip says communication error time out and the phone is still locked.

Used E series on the clip with an E700 lead.

You are right, the new version of E330 cannot be direct unlock, only method to unlock the new E330 is to read code, our data1 unlock device can unlock this via read code function, only the data1 have a lcd to display the codes.

its the one marked PDA or XDA cable. NOT the one with the battery part. when did you buy from allgsm.....hes a trusted seller..

To unlock Nokia 6230:

1. insert 4x AA batteries into clip
2. plug main cable to clip
3. attach nokia 6230 cable to main cable
4. insert battery into 6230 cable attachment
5. insert cable and battery to back of phone
6. power on phone
7. press SELECT button on clip until you hear 'Nokia', then press ENTER button on clip
8. press SELECT button on clip until you hear 'DCT4 Unlock', then press ENTER
9. clip will say 'power on phone'
10. press ENTER button
11. leds will light up showing progress of unlocking
12. clip will say 'Ok, shutdown', and phone will restart
13. disconnect phone, put in alternative sim, and hey presto! :)

Would anybody be so kind as to create a list of what each lead is compatable for with the platinum clip and also what lead do you use to connect to the pc for updating the box. I purchased the platinum clip off platinumclip.com recently and struggling to work out which leads are compatable for which phones. Any help would be most appreciated.
