NEC e616 unlock with 1.2

I have a working version of the above software but I am still having trouble unlocking the 616. I think it might be a cble problem as I understand that he NEC goes nto test mode and mine doesn';t when connetced.

to run you through whats happeing is as follows (I have all the USB drivers installed ok):

Start software

Connect phone using NEC USB lead and no battery on phone

I get a win error "cannot open port" and nothing else.

If I repeat with the battery connected the software works fine but I get the following message

"Initialising"
"Time out"
"Finished"

and no codes.

software version is SW13

Hi,
First install USB Driver, Five or six times and you will check obex port no.
Run the software and select phone model then you will check OBEX Com port from
My Computer -properties- Hardware- Divice manager- Com port settings. Thats all.

If I am reading this correctly I need to bridge pins 8,9 & 10 together and then also 5 & 4.

Please can you confirm

yes, 8,9,10 must be short circuit.. 45 also..
