I want to try to unlock a SONY carradio "mask" code in says screen any suggestions

you used to be able to tie the set in a watertight plastic bag and put it in the freezer over night and this would wipe the code off but i dont know if this will work with a mask??

Dear Friends,

welp, I had the same problem in the past and a friend of mine helped me and resolved the problem.<br />please, if is working - DO NOT SPREAD!

in the bottom of tape you`ll see a "hole" (like a window)<br />inside that "window" you`ll see 4 pads which named TP1-4 (these are test points pads)

all you have to do is JUMPER ALL 4 PADS TOGETHER, <br />put 12VDC for NO MORE THAN 5 Sec.

after, remove jumper from 4 pads, and put voltage and see if code is cleared.

Give me the model number of the unit and I will Give you the info you need to re-code the unit.

Hello!

I have same problem with sony XR-M500R! I hae the needed remote control, but dont know any code or how to input! I cant find any Testpoints on pcb or any window!

Just connect the 3 test-point that you can see in the window. and leave it this way!

My radio has the same window, but no test point in it! :-(

There are 3 soldering dots if you look closely you cn see tp? just connect these 3 together!
